At game and very pleased with size of crowd and their enthusiasm. Wet and dreary all game but by end of Q 3 the team got us all into happy spirits.
Was hoping to see K Johnson but disappointed when he came out without pads for the Senior recognition. Good to see D Young show his old potential.
Sam had best game since LSU, but then who didn’t. All in all a great time except for the reality of being the last one.

I'll take option #2. Standards don't need to be lowered.

I'm the type of fan who is also the "doomsday realist" for all of my teams, but especially Texas. I found myself criticizing Vince Young early and often, and finally got that "relaxed" feeling after the final whistle against USC in January 2006. I think Saban kind of said it best in the middle of their national championship runs, that they start getting ready for the next game no matter how good the last one was.

I feel like that's not where this team is yet. They'll celebrate the wins a little bit more than they should and then not be as prepared as they should be for the next one.

First game I’ve attended in person this year. Even though I had to sit in the drizzle for 4-5 hours, I had a good time. I don’t get nearly as nervous watching in person As I do when I’m watching on the tube for some reason. Although there were a lot of empty seats, the crowd was loud and supportive. Tech fans were rowdy during the first half, then drifted away like the pond scum they are during the second half.

I was with family during the game today, and MISSED you guys! The first ten minutes made me think, "here we go again," but right after that, we OWNED Tech......... what a great way to go into Post Season. I've enjoyed every moment with you guys during this year. I'd rather be with you than the finest people on earth. Stay frosty buds!!! :-D

Missed the banter. I was at the game until mid-third quarter when I had to leave for a Johnson City dinner at Bryans and then lights around town.

It looked bad early. We were lamenting buying tickets in the rain for that but when they turned it around I felt dry. Had a Coors light with my lady. My teenage daughter amused herself with her crush on Dicker the Kicker and she likes to watch the cheerleaders as she is one herself.

All in all a good day. Scratch that. A GREAT day! Happy Thanksgiving to all my Hornfan friends. Hope it was a great one for you too!

Here is an unfortunate quote (in my opinion) from Sam after the game (from ESPN.com recap of the game):

"If you had told Texas fans three years ago that we would have seven wins and a headed to a bowl game and had a chance to win eight, I think people would be pretty happy," Ehlinger said. "Overall, we did a great job."

I believe midway through the year he had his 1st drop. Not of the season, of his career. Not sure what more the other poster wants from him. Thanks for sticking up for Duv. Class act.

To my very amateurish eye, it seemed that the defense was more physical, faster and tackled better than we've seen at times this year. There were a lot of tceh limp offs.

Those words might have come out of Sam's mouth, but they came from Belmont.

No player would have come into this season with the goals we had and be happy with the results.

His words were true. From a fan's perspective, after enduring 3 years of Charlie Strong, we would have been happy with a chance of a 8 win season. But he is the guy who also said, "Were BAAAAAACCCCCKKKK"

He needs to own that, he is as much to blame for the high expectations we had as fans as anyone.

Sam’s a gamer. He knows what the team has gone through a lot more than I. I’m proud of the Seniors that stayed around and I’m sure he is too. I also think he puts a ton of this year on himself, just his way.

Orlando's scheme of shutting down the run forced TTU to pass every down once they got behind. So let's fire him, right?

He scored the first RB TD in the game and the only TD in the Baylor game.

Watch: Malcolm Roach opens up on offsides penalty vs. Iowa State

Read the quote. He was just trying to make a play and block the FG. Except that's not playing smart football. There was no need to jump to try and make a play. There was 1:40 left even if they hit it. Plenty of time to get down and give the game over to Dicker. That's my whole friggin point. Too many guys trying to make plays that aren't theirs to make. And a Sr. should know better than to jump a count on a 4th and 5. I mean I feel bad for him, but let's not put this on Ossai when it was Roach that jumped offsides.

Also read this on how they baited us into the off sides.
Peterson: Inside the craftiness and chicanery of Iowa State's crazy, game-winning final 2 minutes

We lost games all year because guys played undisciplined football. This was just one in a string of them.

Yet we still play too tight - the worst of both worlds.

I was surprised, while watching the Iron Bowl, to see Bama jump offsides on 4th and 4 and give Auburn a crucial first down. Then on Auburn’s last drive, Bama had them stopped, 4th and 4 again, but got an illegal substitution penalty which ended the game. Looked like us, except that Saban was furious instead of just looking dumbfounded as TH always looks.

I believe that’s your starting qb and team leader staying positive for the bowl game and rolling into 2020, where we hope to vie for the conference championship game.
