As I said before, our program is at a place where a win is a win. Damn shame....:smh:

This team looks NIT bound. Oh well, better than getting embarrassed in the real tourney In round 1.

This team will be lucky to finish the season with more wins than loses. With Tennessee, a very good Ohio team (5-2), and Stanford coming up in December. Plus the Big 12 is solid this year except for maybe Oklahoma and K-State. I would not consider Texas a solid team. We have no discipline nor are we very well coached. North Texas is at best a mediocre team and I find it very hard to celebrate this win. The only upside I can see by living thru this potentially horrible season is that hopefully Aston gets fired.

So, on to play Hawaii. Shout out for the play of Celeste Taylor today. Her tough, smart play was crucial. Good for Jada, coming through with a couple of buckets! In the postgame radio interview, Aston mentioned that the coaches were able to put Allen-Taylor at the point late in the game and move Sutton off the ball. Aston said the staff would look at moving Sutton off the ball more and setting some screens for her. Worth a try, imo.

This is a struggle. It's not just the team struggling, the coaching staff struggling. The fans are struggling not to feel disheartened.

Hard to believe it was just 2 years ago that Texas was ranked #2 (until they went down to Tennessee in a completely awful game). That seems like eons ago now.

I'll continue to cheer for and wish only the best for this team. But I don't know if I see a single indicator that is pointing in the right direction.

This team is struggling much as Notre Dame is right now, in the sense that no game against a team with a pulse is a guaranteed win, except we don't have the excuse of having lost our 9 best players from last year.

I disagree about the Big 12. It could seriously be a two-bid conference this year. West Virginia just lost to Creighton. Kansas and Texas Tech aren't much improved. TCU and Iowa State are down from last year due to graduation losses. Oklahoma State is probably better than last year but not sure they're even a tournament team. All of this means that teams that fail to get quality wins in the nonconference might have precious few, if any, chances to get them in Big 12 play unless they can upset Baylor, which I'm not betting on.

Right there with ya. Always gonna root for em to do well but really frustrating. With Baylor and Oregon going down today good chance Stanford will be coming to Austin as the #1 team in the nation in a couple weeks.

Charlie Creme :rolleyes1: has us as a #9 seed. I don’t know if I should laugh or cry.

I'd laugh. Bracketology is a complete joke anytime before January. Just shameless clickbait. How can he decide a team is worthy of a bid when the only teams they've beaten are Southern, UTSA, UTRGV and North Texas?? It's literally laughable.

Not too long ago, we were in a position to only be challenged by Baylor in the Big 12, otherwise winning most easily. Holmes looks better, but we are really struggling to score consistently. The Ariel and Brooke years were so good even when they had some struggles. I think we could do well in the Big 12 or we could be in the middle. A lot of this will come down to momentum an coaching. CDC says he wants his programs competing for the top 10 in the country year in and year out. This is not one of those years.

Yeah, I think Texas only scored 4 points in the 2nd quarter.

Watched this from start to finish. The most embarrassing game I have seen in years. Not being good is one thing. Not putting any effort into it is entirely different. Second game in a row we have been outworked.

This game, well actually the entire Hawaii tournament, was difficult to listen to and/or watch. What an embarrassment! Might as well be watching Texas State instead of THE University of Texas. Issy Palmer came in, promptly made a 3, then KA yanked her in favor of Higgs and Sutton...neither who did anything the entire game except spas-out. I don't know what's wrong with the coaching, but I'm on the "change is needed" bandwagon now. I agree with one commenter above, we'll be lucky to post a .500 record.

ok. I am going into hiding now. I am beyond baffled by how the team played tonight. I don’t even want to talk about it. Every time I type more, I start hitting my back button.

And Texas continues to sink lower and lower. One step (small) forward two steps back. That loss to Hawaii is sure going to help with recruiting. Bet that plane right back to Austin ought to be fun.

CDC it’s time to deal with the mediocrity mired with the WBB program.

I was going to say that this team would be 6-6 going into Big 12 play. Now I say they will be 5-7 going into their Big 12 schedule. The have NO discipline! Absolutely none. They can't guard the 3 point line and help defense doesn't exist. Hawaii didn't have a problem guarding Texas at the 3 point line. Hawaii had wide open 3 point shots and easily drove to the basket off of screens and ball cuts! Of course our opponents just have to pack it in because we have NO consistent outside shooters. The Tennessee and Stanford games will be an embarrassment!!
I stand by my statement that this team will not win 50% of their games.

They should make a coaching change the minute the plane lands. I realize CDC is a little busy fixing football but this is pathetic.
Could they throw money at Coach Conradt to step in and finish the season? I don’t think there’s a capable assistant on staff.
Get ready for a losing season with 300 fans in the stands for home games.

Don’t know how much money would talk but maybe Conradt would do it for Texas?
Edit: I know. I’m not supposed to be here.

No seriously. Did we just lose to an island? I mean, I know it’s a state but so is Alaska which is really just an iceberg. So I’m just checking to make sure. Hawaii, right? We just lost to Hawaii. This is Texas. In Austin. Because the North Texas one beat Hawaii. Hello? Is this on? Anyone out there?

And to the seniors on this team, where is the leadership? At least play with some pride. Our on court leaders are currently Charli and a freshman who is playing in her 8th game. I sure hope they don’t decide to transfer after this year.

Fortunately I only wasted about 3 minutes of my life on that mess of a game. Turned it on with 2 minutes to go and down about 11. The announcers were incredulous that Aston wasn’t fouling to extend the game. So Hawaii ran off all but 5 seconds on the shot clock, then we fouled. Watching Aston on the bench, she had given up. Glad I was out playing with grandkids.
