Horowitz worked on the Barney Frank Campaign
He donated to Sen Michael Bennet, a Dem who is running against Trump.
His wife is a former Dem campaign official and activist, as well as a former DC producer for CNN. She also contributed to the Obama Campaign. She also served as a press aide to Dem Michael Dukakis during his presidential bid

Yet more Page-Strzok texts released -- this is from Dec 2015

‘You get all our oconus lures approved? ;)

As the FBI is supposed to be prohibited from spying on a major political party’s candidate for the presidency, they needed to find an alternative. Here, Page-Strzok sought to “manufacture a foreign counterintelligence (FCI) “threat” that could then be “imported” back into the United States.”

Chris Farrell, a former counterintelligence case officer writes:

Plausible deniability, the Holy Grail of covert activities, was in reach for the plotters if they could develop an FCI operation outside the continental United States (OCONUS) involving FBI confidential human sources (Halper, Mifsud, others?) that would act as “lures” (intelligence jargon associated with double agent operations) to ensnare Trump associates.

We have evidence of these machinations from December 2015 when FBI lawyer Lisa Page texts to her boyfriend, the now infamous FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok, “You get all our oconus lures approved? ;).”

The coup plot failed, but the chief coup conspirators are free, crisscrossing the country on book tours and appearing as paid contributors to CNN and MSNBC.

Justice IG Horowitz had 104 criminal or administrative investigations of alleged misconduct related to FBI employees open as of Sept. 30, according to new OIG report.
The criminal investigations involve "serious allegations of official misconduct."

The IG report hits the FBI hard but some of Horowitz's conclusions are being challenged by Durham.

Another self reporting report which hurts the justice department. No different than the Comey press conference. Yes, we broke the law but it was warranted because we know better than you.

Sickening. Our country is in chaos. We need a constitutional convention or a civil war.

There was also a huge release of Afghanistan Papers. Buried deep within those is General Flynn telling government interviewers that everyone was lying about the war. Not so coincidentally, his life was chosen for ruin.

Flynn also said in a public hearing that he wanted to audit the intelligence community. They understood this correctly as the first shot fired in a war against the administrative state. He was fired by the Obama Admin shortly thereafter. Since then, his life has been a living hell.

The Guardian: Describing a “positivity bias” in reporting back to DC, Flynn concluded the “rosy picture” being painted across the board from Afghanistan was as corrupt as the theft ... and condemned a “lack of courage in senior government officials to tell the truth.” And you know how well Obama people handled criticism. US lies and deception spelled out in Afghanistan papers' shocking detail

    Gen. Flynn --

Commanders and policymakers, on the spectrum of news, they want always to be good news. Operational commanders, state dept policymakers and Dept of Defense are going to be inherently rosy in their assessments. They will be unaccepting of hard-hitting intelligence. [They all say] we are doing a great job. Really? So if we are doing a great job, why does it feel like we are losing?

There is corruption in reporting ... That also includes from the State Dept. There is no way that over the years ... that we can say things are wonderful. Every measurable activity is failing. So when you look at Afghanistan, every single measurable activity is failing."

John Durham on the IG Report. pretty unusual for him to make any public statement about anything. Shows that he has significant disagreement with Horowitz conclusions

“I have the utmost respect for the mission of the Office of Inspector General and the comprehensive work that went into the report prepared by Mr. Horowitz and his staff. However, our investigation is not limited to developing information from within component parts of the Justice Department.

Our investigation has included developing information from other persons and entities, both in the U.S. and outside of the U.S. Based on the evidence collected to date, and while our investigation is ongoing, last month we advised the Inspector General that we do not agree with some of the report’s conclusions as to predication and how the FBI case was opened.

    Likewise Bill Barr --

“Nothing is more important than the credibility and integrity of the FBI and the Department of Justice. That is why we must hold our investigators and prosecutors to the highest ethical and professional standards. The Inspector General’s investigation has provided critical transparency and accountability, and his work is a credit to the Department of Justice. I would like to thank the Inspector General and his team.

The Inspector General’s report now makes clear that the FBI launched an intrusive investigation of a U.S. presidential campaign on the thinnest of suspicions that, in my view, were insufficient to justify the steps taken. It is also clear that, from its inception, the evidence produced by the investigation was consistently exculpatory...."

This entire whole thing started with the Carter Page FISA warrant application, which was bogus. Now here they are 3 years later saying "whoops, our bad, moving on"

Here is some more commentary from General Flynn
In context, it is easy to see why they went out of their way to get rid of this guy

    Great stuff @Joe Fan.

So my wise *** comments during "testimony" a couple weeks ago were fairly accurate. This is all because "Diplomats" are having their gravy trains questioned by Trump. Not only hurt feelings but maybe hurt pocketbooks, too.

I was just referring to those testifying recently. Career diplomats who were butthurt. That is supposedly where the "whistleblower" report came from, a career intelligence person.

Barr says the Durham Investigation will go into Spring/early Summer 2020.
Too bad but at least it will be before the next election.

I can hear the CNN/MSNBC pundits crying already that they are timing it to come out right before the election since, seemingly, it will be damaging to the Dems.

My opinion of Michael Flynn just went through the roof. He spoke truth to power and suffered for it. Seems like a very honorable person.

The Carter Page FISA renewal applications contained a number of factual representations that were inaccurate, incomplete, or unsupported by appropriate documentation, based upon information in the FBI's possession at the time the applications were filed.

We will have to wait and see if anyone gets rung up for breaking the laws and rules
One thing we know, if their names were Manafort or Stone they would be doing life in prison for this stuff
