That's up to you now, isn't it? Venting on a public forum is obviously your preferred medicine.

Davenport? Did you watch an old game tape? ;)

Assume you meant Underwood and agree 100%.

Don't you have an engine to drop, or maybe a roof to shingle? Oh well, the good thing is we know you'll go crawl back under your rock with the next embarrassing loss.

There's no need for me to come here and post negative, snarly, vile, insulting things about our coaching staff and players after a loss. You've got that covered by a mile, and then some. I know posting those things makes you feel better, though.

Makes me really happy to watch Jada play a game like this. While she hasn't always played smoothly in her first 3 seasons at Texas, I don't think her effort has ever been in question.

I am absolutely shocked, I mean absolutely shocked Texas had <10 turnovers. And I'm absolutely shocked Underwood made not 1 but 2 three's. Oh, yes I'm shocked Texas won too.

Certainly the best half I've seen Texas play in 2 years, and close to the best game. I certainly feel a lot better about Texas not having a losing B12 record this year. Keep playing tough smart basketball ladies.

That was such a pretty spin move in the paint by Jada late in the second quarter to get the layup against two defenders despite getting fouled.

Gave me flashbacks to a similar spin move made by freshman post Cinietra Henderson back in 1989-90 in the exact same spot.

I thought Texas would get blown out. And as they led the entire game I never thought they’d win - until they did.
Good game. Let’s see if it’s a fluke or the start of playing better basketball.

You SURE DO take things personally when it comes to any type of criticism regarding Karen Aston's coaching.

I've criticized her and disagreed with her for different things plenty of times here and on other boards over the years. Luckily, I'm nowhere close to being in your league when it comes to "criticism" of Coach A; something you've made extremely personal . . .

Yes I’m a former journalist as well. Very aware of the sad state of local news and newspapers.
My point was they’ve become so irrelevant they don’t even get a mention on Game Day playing Tennessee.
    Maybe this win will help.

I tell ya what, if you'd told me going into this game that Holmes and Collier would combine for only 8 points on 4 of 19 shooting, and that Celeste would foul out with almost 6 minutes left, and that Joyner would also foul out with over a minute left ... I'd think we'd be getting blown out by 30.

The huge difference was the guard play. What a complete 180 from the Hawaii game, which was pure futility and frustration for Lashann and Sug. Here they combined for 38 points on 15-31. That is just awesome. It was painful for me to watch them struggle like they have.

It was still a pretty ugly game at times, and the 2nd half was nowhere near the quality of the 1st, but the good news is that more than 50% of the ugliness came from the Tennessee side.

I hesitate to read too much into this win, because in reality I think Tennessee was possibly overranked, but certainly it confirms Texas does have some potential and they can play better.

    In watching the replay:

Karen finally used her timeouts well.
    Used her substitutions well.
    Made appropriate adjustments.
    Players managed the clock well.
Collier maintained her cool while Holmes did not.
    Celeste is gonna be fun.
Sutton and Higgs are the key.
I still can’t figure out Underwood, but when she’s on she’s really on.
Team goal should be fewer than 10 turnovers every game.

Based on the B12/SEC challenge we are going to have a tough conference season. No gimmies.

You couldn't even get the start time of the game right! So weak.

So glad our players haven't thrown in the towel like our supposed "fans".

Thanks for creating this thread, by the way. Obviously, iit didn't go as you had planned. I realize you were hoping for the chance to continue to dump on our players and our coaching staff, which is the only reason why you registered on this forum 3 weeks ago; that is obvious to everyone.

I finally got a chance to watch this team. I was only able to see the first game of the season being I don’t have longhorn network where I live. I must admit I was a little hesitant after reading a lot of the post about how bad they looked according to the posters here. I will say that it’s hard to really see what a team will shape out to be early in the season especially with so many new players actually playing with each for for the first time to go along with some key injuries. having coached i can tell you it can take some time to gel. I thought and still think this team has to much talent with a good mix of veteran leadership to go along with talented youth to not make a strong push in conference play. I was very impressed with the team yesterday I thought they played with good energy on both sides of the ball, made the extra pass which resulted in hitting open shots because of it. as opposed to shooting a quick contested shot. One thing I feel they will need to work on is defending the three point shot as they go deeper in the season because I saw a few times the defender slow to close out which resulted in open looks so when you play a team that can knock those down it will hurt you other than that they competed hard did a good job switching on D off of screens and were aggressive on the boards. If your players play hard for you and never give up regardless of the situation or circumstances that’s a sign of a good coach and the team I watched yesterday played hard for 40 minutes. If they continue to play that hard Texas will be a scary team to play against come March.

Very promising stat. I hope we can continue to be patient and not try to force the ball thus leading to turnovers.

I think Mooooo is partially correct. The players are just kids doing their best. Criticism of individual players should not occur.
However, our coaches are well-paid adults who know what to expect going in. I have been very critical of the immense amount of turnovers in the past. When the team averages 15-20 turnovers a game over a 5 year span, it's not the players. It the coaches and the coaching. I think it's a legit gripe and the coaches need to correct it. The Tenn game was great and I hope we can continues to be under 10 turnovers/game.
That being said, I seriously doubt the coaches read this forum, and if they do, they don't care what we say.
