2021 WR Troy Stellato from Fort Lauderdale, with a nice offer list
This looks like it has to do with Yurcich and 247 thinks we will get a visit soon

What's the latest on Jalen Milroe? Is he still solid for UT? Anyone know how he feels about Yurcich replacing Beck?

However, 2021 WR Quay Davis (Dallas Skyline) says we are his leader, despite the de-commitment.

Here is Gabe Brooks with some notes about 2021s (mostly) at the Pylon 7on7 Dallas tournament

    - Ishmael Ibraheem, 2021 CB, Dallas Kimball -- ... picked up offers this past week from Notre Dame and USC. Ibraheem seems to be intrigued by Notre Dame and its academic profile. He said he wants to get to know more about the Irish coaching staff. Ibraheem also confirmed plans to make an unofficial visit Jan. 18 to Texas, which offered him last June. Ibraheem has reported more than 20 offers nationwide. The industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranks Ibraheem at No. 132 overall in the country's 2021 class, No. 11 nationally among 2021 cornerbacks, ....
-- JD Coffey, 2021 S, Kennedale -- Coffey said he has been in contact the most lately with Notre Dame and Cal. Stanford and Texas are also schools in regular pursuit of Coffey, a four-star who also plays select 7-on-7 for Texas Flex. Coffey plans to take a Jan. 18 unofficial visit to Texas. He also hopes to get up to Notre Dame at some point in the summer. Coffey, who owns about 20 offers nationally, wants to cut his list to a top eight or top five by the end of the spring with sights on a commitment decision before the 2020 football season starts. The 247Sports Composite ranks Coffey as a top 200 national prospect, the No. 4 safety in the 2021 class, and No. 28 overall in Texas for his class.

-- Quay Davis, 2021 WR, Dallas Skyline -- the 6-foot, 193-pound four-star wideout and Fast 7v7 member has already decommitted twice despite just finishing his junior football season, but he will have plenty of options with 20 offers to date. Davis first decommitted in Dec. 2018 from SMU before committing last June to Texas. He decommitted in November from the Longhorns. He told 247Sports that he plans to take a lot of visits in the coming months before making a commitment decision during the summer. The Longhorns lead the 247Sports Crystal Ball with 80 percent. The 247Sports Composite ranks Davis at No. 77 nationally in the 2021 class, 13th among 2021 wideouts, and No. 14 overall in Texas for his class.

-- Phaizon Wilson, 2022 WR, Lancaster (Texas) -- another Team Grind standout, Wilson flashed a couple of times in Saturday's action thanks to his 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame and big catch radius. Wilson has gotten two FBS offers from Texas Tech and Kansas, which offered him Thursday. Only a sophomore, Wilson said he wants to make unofficial visits to both in the near future. Kansas has been active recruiting the DFW Metroplex in the Les Miles area, particularly with passing game coordinator/receivers coach Emmett Jones being a former head coach at South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas.

Some Mike Roach from the same Pylon 7on7 tourney in Dallas

JD Coffey ... hadn’t heard much from Texas over the last month or two, but Chris Ash reached out to him this week and invited him for a visit on Jan. 18. Coffey had a tight relationship with Craig Naivar when he was at Texas, but he wants to meet the new staff and give them a chance. Coffey will indeed make the visit to Austin on the 18th, and Texas could regain control of this recruitment if everything goes well.
Ishmael Ibraheem previously told me that Jason Washington leaving Texas would be a huge negative for Texas in his recruitment, but he said today that he wants to meet the new staff. The four-star cornerback is planning to be in Austin on Jan. 18 for a visit.
Quaydarius Davis .. Texas is the leader out of his top group of schools, and he plans to be in Austin on Jan. 18. He’s had several great conversations with Tom Herman as of late, and he was excited to learn that Mike Yurcich is the new offensive coordinator. Davis said he’s not sure what will happen at the wide receiver position, but he personally hopes Texas continues to pursue Emmett Jones.....
Camar Wheaton- possible attendant for the Jan. 18 visit weekend.

2022 RB Jaydon Blue was sensational during the All-American Bowl underclassmen combine... wants to visit Texas and is checking his availability for the Jan. 18 weekend.
2022 OL Devon Campbell .. has long arms and great athletic ability, and he showed that he’s not afraid to get nasty.... mentioned Texas as the early one that stands out. Campbell confirmed he will be in Austin on Jan. 18.
Few recruiting notes from Pylon 7on7 Dallas

Two things about his list, not a single school has a good academic reputation. Second, all of them have put receivers in the NFL.

    Majority of recruits9 90%) :
1st ) the second thing is most of what they look at in a school of choice.
2nd) they reallly don't give a rat's butt about the academic reputation.
3rd) they want to win while they are there.

Vol Horn 4 Life Good Bye To All The Rest!

I think he's saying most football players really don't think past where they want to play football and who they're hanging with tonight with the coolness factor of both being the determining factor. The major link being the coach who is feeding them the stuff to make the decision. I'd bet that probably less than 20% of all elite D1 football players actually care about academics.

I think majestic has it right here. I suspect most posters on this forum have enough life experience to understand the factors that will ultimately prove to be important in ones choice of college. But 18 year old football studs who are being promised the moon probably do not.

Possibly an interesting nugget buried in this episode of The Scoop by Inside Texas about OL Savion Byrd

BYRD'S THE WORD Texas has to hit big on the 2021 offensive line and fortunately there are more quality prospects than ever before. Despite playing defensive line this season, Duncanville's Savion Byrd is one of the better known o-linemen in the class.
Future Visits: “(ou), LSU, Notre Dame, Florida, all types of schools. I know (ou) is for sure, LSU for sure. I might go back down to Texas, (aggy), Texas Tech.”
    Top Schools: “Not yet.”
Most Communication: “I talked to Coach (James) Cregg from LSU the most.” Cregg’s Message:
"‘We need you and we want you,’ that’s basically what they’ve been saying and, ‘A big player deserves to be in the big games.’”
SMU: “SMU’s pitch is just Dallas to Dallas, staying home.” [Ra'Shaad Samples gives them a chance]
In State Schools: “Texas and (aggy).”
    Texas: “
This recruiting class for the offensive line is really good. I know a few, I met up with some at the Auburn vs. Oregon game like Tommy Brockermeyer."
"Texas, I like their program. I’ve been there a couple times. You can tell the relationships with the coaches is really well. They push each other hard.”

And that is where Texas should win the recruiting battle. Herman has a long-term focus and not just "What can you do for me for the next three years?"

I think a lot of these 18 year old players, even while concentrating on football, can realize when they are being fed BS.

It is very sad for the ones who cannot tell the difference.
