Wow, linebackers coach! I thought he might hold out for another DC position somewhere. Kind of surprising to me he took a step backward.

As BOLH said, he has a greater position than just LB coach.
Official release called him assistant head coach and linebackers coach

Any irony in the fact that Texas has had linebacker issues for the last few years?

George Bailey No beans in my chili, thank you

TO coaching the D at tceh? Sam, if you don't improve on the 49 pts from this year, the NFL is going to give you a bad grade again.

Well, the history and expectations on the defensive side of the ball at Tech are pretty low.

I think they just got a bump up. Give him 3 years of recruits and we will see what happens.

State employment benefits can be a strong motivational tool and being at TTU keeps him in the State ERS.

He probably didn't have a choice. Haven't heard of many (or any) programs making a bee line to his front door wanting him as their DC.

He's probably there as much to give intel about us as he is to coach LBs.

He is not the DC !!! He is merely coaching LBs. What Tech does on defense will be dictated by their DC.

For 2019 D1 Defenses, Texas ws 65th and Tech was 84th. He might get them to the middle of the pack.

Oh..I don't really think you need any intel to beat us :whiteflag:

Orlando to USC.. I didn't see that coming any more than I saw Aranda to Baylor happening. I'll be very interested to see how TO does out there on the west coast if this comes to pass.

    Orlando to USC as DC.

Oh, I can tell you what will “come to pass” for USC with an Orlando D—every starting QB for an opposing team. Opponents’ QBs will “come to pass” for 350-400+ yards per game.
