But is it the Chicken Sandwich lunch? Never tried one as I am not a fan of food spiked with MSG.

Hell, he would have been an Honors Student for knowing where the classroom was located.

Does anyone know if a JC player must pass certain core classes to transfer to a major college program? If not, he could take a bunch of blow off classes and get in somewhere.

I would think the JC transfer standards vary school-by-school. He won't be transferring to Stanford or Rice regardless of how well he does at the JC.

Maybe that is why he left when the academic side of the staff discovered how badly he was performing?

Sounds like the academic side of the staff may have been late to the show with regard to Shepherd's school work. Of course, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

Ha! Pro football players (even XFL players) can throw down at Popeye's where you sometimes have to fight for your chicken sandwich. See below--cross-posted from the Rusty's Grill section of Hornfans.

With Shepherd going away, that leaves our class of 2019 with only 2 OLs left. That's a hole in depth. We want 4 OL each recruiting year--some years 5. We took 4 solid OLs for 2020. We should sign 4 or 5 solid OLs for 2021, with the understanding that there is a gap in OL depth from 2 years prior.

TFB thinks we will pursue Whitely in addition to Rakeshaw (by SuperK) --

Edric Whitley. Whitley is an Austin area cornerback. He’s about the same size as Rakestraw. However, Whitley does have a verified 100m time (10.72). He’s actually been one of my personal favorite corner prospects in the state.

Whitley tells me that he has been in contact with the staff and they are expected to see him this week. I don’t know whether an offer will happen but it would not surprise me.

I like how he positions himself to receive the ball better than the intended receiver. He plays larger receivers well by attacking the ball at its high point or tackling with his shoulder if the catch is made. Speed seems adequate if not blazing. Oh wait, 10.7 in the 100M works for me.

This guy has speed and moves. Think a lightly smaller JQJ at WR. I am all over that concept.

In his highlights, he puts a DB into lifetime chiropractic care with a double move near the goal line at 0:50.

Gabe brooks on WR offer Savion Williams

Recruiting: Williams committed last May to Arkansas and remained pledged into November to the Razorbacks, but he re-opened his recruitment upon the firing of then-head coach Chad Morris. Jeff Traylor, now head coach at UTSA, and receivers coach Justin Stepp, who was retained at Arkansas, were instrumental in Williams' recruitment to the Hogs.

Williams named Arkansas, TCU, and SMU as his top three schools and has taken his official visits to SMU (mid-December) and Arkansas (this past weekend). He will officially visit TCU this weekend. But Texas offering Williams makes this a four-team race down the stretch. We believe that he will take an official visit Jan. 31 weekend to Texas, but have not yet confirmed. Williams has said multiple times this month he will announce his decision on National Signing Day (Wednesday, Feb. 5)
    * * *
Stats: Forced into playing quarterback as a senior .... In limited time at wideout, Williams caught 12 passes for 121 yards and two scores. His breakout junior season saw him catch 43 passes for 656 yards and 11 scores on 15.3 yards per reception.

Evaluation notes: Williams is a specimen of a receiver in the 6-foot-4, 205-pound range with a huge catch radius and frame space to get to 220 pounds with ease in a college strength and conditioning program. Williams owns a very high ceiling as a red-zone ball-winner thanks to his size and high-pointing ability. He also has shown a unique ability to adjust to the ball mid-flight relative to his size. He shows good ball-tracking ability in the deep portion of the field and his speed-building long stride gives him better-than-expected top-end speed for his size.

While there is a lack of context regarding Williams' athleticism from a combine testing and track standpoint, his ability on the basketball floor gives you a glimpse of his functional athleticism that translates to the gridiron. Williams is a leaper who plays above the rim for Marshall's basketball squad. He has assembled some pretty eye-opening tape so far this basketball season, showing impressive explosiveness as a finisher and a shot-blocker.

Williams will need to improve the technical aspects of his game as a receiver because he is raw and all tools right now. But make no mistake, those tools are special, and we are confident in him being a four-star talent right now and moving forward. His development might take a little bit of time, but he possesses an NFL ceiling.

Top Overall Prospects from the Week - Offense: Bijan Robinson (Texas)

After having played in the All-American Bowl just two weeks prior, Robinson was back on the All-Star circuit, with a tremendous week in Honolulu. The Texas Longhorn signee brought his A-game every day in practice. Whether it was running the ball or catching it out of the backfield, Robinson consistently made people miss and showed burst and explosion when in the open field. The Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic was the second highest rated offensive player in the game after D.J. Uiagalelei and with his production the whole week, he gets the nod here.

Who needs to fly to Vegas and pay top dollar to watch cage fighting when you can just go to the local Popeyes for front row seats to see some scrapping. As a bonus you can get a bucket of chicken.
