Jones makes the decision.

A head scratcher. Not a young guy; and not a coach mentioned when discussing great NFL coaches. Will he be closer to Parcells or Wade Phillips? Or it is Jerry's money so who cares?

I think McCarthy is a good fit.
Depends on how much decision making power he gets.
Don't want a young coach that needs a year or two to get up to speed.
    They have talent now.
    He coached Favre and Rogers.
Prescot is somewhat the same mold.

Yeah... probably a bit of over the top wining and dining that McCarthy wasn't exactly use to...

I heard it was Jerry and his son's show. No outside input. Jones echo chamber all the way.

    Nothing surprising there

I have a friend who knows McCarthy, likes him, speaks highly of him on an interpersonal level

So, Riley can be beat and handily too. See Lsu. Hell, RRS 2018 we were up three td’s in the fourth before we decided to let kyler go crazy on us. We just need to take care of our business (easier said than done)

This makes no sense to me
Why would you want to keep the same coaching team together?

As long as Jerrah is GM, we will never see another Super Bowl.

A new head coach, a new defensive coordinator, a new special teams coordinator, and the same offensive coordinator qualifies as "keeping the same coaching team together"?

I'm a bit out of the loop with the Cowboy coaching situation. Is it McCarthy who wants to keep Moore, or is Jones pushing Moore onto McCarthy?

McCarthy has never been a running game kinda guy so I think if he keeps Moore
its a sign he knows he needs to adapt a little in his offensive approach. Besides Dallas did have the #1 offense in the league...........just needs some tweaking.

Your guess is as good as anyones. I am sure the question will come up at the PC today, but the answer will be a dodge.

From Cowboy observers, the tale is Jerrah has anointed Moore as the eventual longtime HC. McCarthy has stated he will only be around 4-5 years [could be 2-3 years or 8-10 years depending on how the Jones family lives up to what they agreed to do (or not do)]. Therefore the negotiated "settlement" was Jerrah gave into McCarthy on some control issues in return McCarthy would welcome Moore as OC.

Too bad Jones did not go after Riley.
Word is Riley thinks 2020 will be his strongest team yet and he thinks they're winning the title.

First they have to learn how to win a CFP game. Any bowl game, for that matter.

Then there is conference. Ehlinger will leave body parts on the field to win next year if required.

^^^THIS is the key. IF Jones can manage to keep his mouth shut and not meddle in the coaching decisions, the Cowboys will be fine. If not, well, look at the past 22 or so seasons.

At this point the roster is what it is. As previously mentioned they have 25 or so free agents including Dak, Cooper and Byron Jones. They all want big bucks even though they haven't done anything on a team level. So other than a number one draft pick (assuming they hit it) the upside is the new coach.
