This is a good use of the transfer portal. Two DL who got passed up by multiple younger and more talented players. They're not bad players, just not up to the level of the new guys at DL. They should find playing time at either: (i) a lesser caliber program, or (ii) a roughly equal program with thin DL depth and a need for DLs ready to play (we've been there before).

IMHO -- Wilbon was good enough to stick around, albeit for fairly limited playing time. I'm not so sure about Christmas-Giles.

They are both GTs, so I think they could have done this pre-portal

Good luck to Christmas-Giles and Wilborn. They took advantage of their scholarships and got (getting) their degrees. Smart youngsters. Best of luck going forward.

Is this an actual town? Or just the result of an undertaker with a (of course!) morbid sense of humor?

It is in Texas but that's all I can say for sure. There is a town called New Hope but I dont know if this is theirs.

That is a great name for a cemetary!

It's listed as a Texas ghost town 12 miles east of Winnsboro and 10 miles from Quitman on FM 154:

Texas has 12 of the top 300. We are still in the running for #52 Alfred Collins, #167 Kevontre Bradford, #195 Princely Umanmielen, #290 Kelvontay Dixon.

Speaking of Collins (again), Wiltfong just put something out on him

Talking to a couple sources with knowledge of the recruitment, this is the best I've felt about Texas chances to land .... Alfred Collins since early in the fall.

(ou) remains the biggest challenger and Alabama the dark horse... I was starting to buy stock in (ou) and Baylor for Collins, but with Texas making a change on defense and adopting a four-man front, the defense is a better fit for the ballyhooed Collins who before the process started always pictured himself wearing Burnt Orange. Between the new defense, the family ties and having an in-state degree from the Longhorns, I think those things have Texas in the driver seat.

All that being said, Collins is keeping strong dialogue with (ou) .... is expected at his basketball game Friday. The nation's No. 3 strong-side defensive end knows he's a priority in Norman as well. Collins is tabbed by the Top247 as the nation's No. 40 prospect and is included in the final discussions as a potential five-star going into our final rankings.

"......... He runs through defenders, has plenty of open field wiggle and during the Poly Bowl, looked like a threat to score almost every time he touched the ball. He has elite vision, can change direction and stop and start on a dime. He runs hard consistently and is always attacking the line of scrimmage.

The one area Robinson has an edge on not just Evans but every other back in the class is as a pass catcher. Robinson has elite level hands out of the backfield and is good enough as a pass catcher that we would probably rate him as a four-star prospect at receiver if he wasn’t such a good running back.

We’ve seen him dominate 7v7 passing events as a receiver and he might be the best pass catching running back to come out of the West since Joe Mixon five years ago. His production is off the charts as well and he averaged an incredible 203 yards a game on nearly 18 yards a carry this past season with 38 touchdowns.

His off the field work ethic is extremely high and he’s as a high character a kid as you’ll find who could be a future captain for the Longhorns.

It’s very close between the two backs. Evans probably has a little bit of an edge in terms of his burst and explosiveness, Robinson is better out of the backfield and might have a small edge in power. Both are talented and have been highly productive their whole high school careers. It's a fun debate and one our recruiting team is still tackling with final rankings slated for release next week. . ...."

For once we won the battle over a 5 star player at a premier position. Better yet, the alternative player looks like a real head case. Really gruntled. Win-win!

We did the in-home with Rakestraw last night, and he is now set his final OV for Austin on January 31. The final 3 are us, Bama and Misery. And 247's Roach thinks Misery actually has a decent shot.

Rivals has had him at #1 for months shading Milton, not Evans who was 3rd.

That's the deciding factor as between Bijan and Evans. Bijan is unlikely to wash out due to off-the-field issues.

It’s mostly just two friends bustin on each other but there’s definitely an ego. The crybaby criticism was authentic for sure. Every leader knows it’s about constructive criticism, meaning he’s no leader. That said, I’m glad he’s OU’s QB. He’ll alienate teammates and eventually himself when things go south in a game. Praying for a sideline brawl at the Cotton Bowl after a couple dropped passes and turnovers.
