    NOTES

Texas looks to become just the sixth program in NCAA Division I women's basketball history to reach 1,100 all-time victories when it faces Kansas on Wednesday. Tip-off at the Frank Erwin Center is slated for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised by Longhorn Network.

    Reaching 1,100 Wins:
Texas is currently 1,099-404 [.731] all-time in the program's 46-year history. The Longhorns look to join Tennessee, UConn, James Madison, Louisiana Tech and Stanford in the 1,100-win club. Texas earned the 1,000th win in program history on January 27, 2016, when the Longhorns defeated Kansas, 70-46, at the Frank Erwin Center.

    The Series:
Texas and Kansas meet for the 39th time in the history of the two programs with the Longhorns leading the all-time series 28-10. Texas has won 14 consecutive meetings in the all-time series with Kansas, sweeping the season series in each of the past six years. The Longhorns are 12-4 all-time against the Jayhawks when the game is played in Austin.
Taylor-Made: Freshman guard Celeste Taylor is the reigning Big 12 Conference Co-Freshman of the Week. During the week, she averaged 11.0 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. She also led her squad in steals [9] and three-pointers made [5]. In the win at Kansas State on Sunday, Taylor swiped a career-high seven steals, which tied for eighth-most in school history.

    Sophomore Success:
Sophomore center Charli Collier averages a double-double on the season [one of six players in the Big 12 to do that] with 13.8 points per game and a squad-best 10.4 rebounds per game. She has 10 double-doubles and ranks 24th nationally in rebounds per game.

    On The Boards:
Success on the boards has been a staple of Texas teams for many years. In fact the Longhorns have tied or won the rebounding battle in 129 of their last 156 games overall, including 11 of 17 games this season. The Longhorns hold a +8.9 rebounding margin, which ranks 22nd nationally. Texas has reached 50 or more rebounds in five games this year.

One note, I was looking at Kansas' pre-conference schedule and it looked like they loaded up on cupcakes, just like Tech. Once in conference, they've lost every game except Tech.

I have said it before. Should we beat them? Hell yes. Will we beat them? Hell if I know.

But I’ll be there cheering them on...

Joyner has got to get control of her emotions. She can’t get down on herself as a Senior, she has to overcome.

All of y'all that have said Nooner has made a big difference in this team, I totally agree. Joyner is much better playing at the low post, and I see Nooner being very engaged with the players!

Sutton’s injury did not look good! If we lose her for an extended period we are in trouble. We have no one that can handle the ball or control the team like her!

With 5 mins left in the game we were up 15.

With 3:00 mins left we were up 14.

With 2:30 mins left we were up 13.

With 1:41 to play we were up 6.

With 40 seconds left we were up 5.

This team is going to be the death of me. We have got to get better at finishing. We have too many ups and downs. Kansas - which barely beat Tech for their only conference win - should have been easier to put away. TWENTY-TWO turnovers. Sweet Jesus in heaven.

Coming up we have road games against OKST then OU and then Baylor at home. I’m not sure my nerves can take this next 10 day stretch.

In KA's news conference, she offered the excuse that the ladies were in a lull because the semester just started. I wish we could all agree: this is how this team plays...sloppy is the norm, not the exception. If the Horns could clean up this aspect of their game, we'd be beating everyone come this side of Sunday.

Yes, her turnovers have always been a problem and will continue to. I think it’s a combination of bad decision making and always trying to make the spectacular play instead of the simple one which is basically what has been the issue with KA coached teams since she’s been here.

Yup, I have to just roll my eyes every time KA makes an excuse for something that for anyone who’s watched the team on a regular basis knows is the norm and has been a huge problem since she’s been here.

What drives me crazy are the self-inflicted turnovers, like dribbling, dribbling, dribbling, looking for someone to pass to and then bouncing it off your own foot and losing the ball. Sug is notorious for dribbling it slowly up the court looking at the defense trying to decide who should get the ball and suddenly having her ball swiped by a player coming up from behind her.
