Some of the newbie techies in Austin seem to like it. Have not seen it. Old Austin is barely hanging on in a couple of small places.

Another offer to another 2021 4-star QB Garrett Nussmeier of Flower Mound. Threw for 40 TDs and almost 4,000 yards as a junior

Here is what Inside Texas thinks of the new QB offer(s) -

Thursday night the staff extended an offer to Lubbock Coronado's Sawyer Robertson. This is an interesting development for a few reasons.

Milroe: When Jalen Milroe was being recruited by other schools he never cared about being in a two quarterback class and that's still the case. He's going to compete. As we know, he has a high mental evaluation.

Yurcich: The new offensive coordinator can't wait to work with the guys coming in, including Milroe, but he wanted to add another arm. Making this a two quarterback class is mostly a new development. We believe Herman was happy to just take Milroe. That means this is a sign that Herman is giving Yurcich decision making duties. That's a good thing overall.

Robertson: My best CFB source when it comes to quarterbacks said Robertson is on the fence of being in the top tier quarterbacks in-state. There are some concerns about demeanor for him and he compared Robertson to a previous recruit that didn't make it. "But the upside is big like with Behren Morton due to multiple sports."
Yurcich didn't seem to have a set "type" at Oklahoma State, and we saw what he did with Justin Fields. I'm sure in Robertson he sees some clay to mold in the form of Mason Rudolph. Robertson certainly has an arm for the vertical game and while he's a pocket passer he's not a statue.

Here is 247Texas on the topic of Milroe and us making offers to other QBs in this class

As I reported the other night, Texas is looking to take two quarterbacks in the 2021 class. I’m told that this plan was relayed to Jalen Milroe and his family prior to offers going out to Lubbock Coronado quarterback Sawyer Robertson and Flower Mound Marcus quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. I’m told that the Milroe’s are ok with the plan, and they’ve been told they are still a huge priority for the staff. Any time you have to navigate the tight rope of a two-quarterback class, things can get dicey. I’m told there is some concern about the depth at the position, and Texas is looking to stack the deck in their favor. 2022 will likely be a one-quarterback class with Southlake Carroll’s Quinn Ewers being the primary target. Out of the two new quarterbacks offered, I’ve heard the most positive things around Nussmeier.

Here is part of the IT Scoop thought on Milroe and the new QB offers --

" ........ Here's what you need to know in one succinct sentence: If Tom Herman and Mike Yurcich are honest with the Milroes on their intentions at the position, everything will be perfectly fine and he'll recruit his *** off.

It has always been the case that he's not afraid of being in a two quarterback class, just like Hudson Card wasn't afraid of being in a two quarterback class. As long as the staff is up front and open with him, he's good.

Nobody wanted a second quarterback in the class until Mike Yurcich was hired. There are plausible reasons for him wanting a second arm. If however, he's just not a fan of Milroe’s game or fit, the Milroes want to hear that. They like Texas the school and think the program is going to get back to contending in a big way, but they'll be alright if they need to look elsewhere. If Yuricich is looking for "his guy" they need to be told plainly because Milroe is QB1 worthy all day long and other schools are recruiting him as such.

As of now the family is operating on the assumption that Jalen is going to Texas. There is no shortage of interest in him, with OU, LSU, USC, Florida, and others trying to pry him loose. Despite the outward appearance to some that Texas taking two quarterbacks makes it easier to drive a wedge between he and Texas, he is going to stay committed as long as Texas keeps him in the loop about its intentions and truly covets him.

By the time Milroe arrives in Austin, the depth chart will look a whole lot different than it projects right now. Yurcich seems to understand that.
