    Safe travels

China has confirmed so far -- 444 cases, with 17 dead. So death rate has climbed to 3.8%, but its China so who knows if they are telling the truth?

Sen. Tom Cotton is asking Trump to consider implementing a travel ban from China to the United States. He says the CCP has badly mishandled the coronavirus outbreak, and are lying about the number of fatalities. There is a different report out that says they had to quarantine all of Wuhan, one of the largest cities in China. GOP senator calls for ‘serious consequences for Chinese malfeasance’ after coronavirus outbreak

The NYT even agrees with him, in part China Silences Critics Over Deadly Virus Outbreak

So this outbreak is getting too big for the Chinese Communists to suppress any longer. The locals in Wuhan are fleeing. Reports that the airport and rail station are packed as people are desperate to leave.

There is another report that says a case may have already reached Mexico City

The UN/WHO screwed this up -- they should have immediately declared the Chinese Coronavirus an international emergency. But they didnt. Why not?

At least nine of those who died had pre-existing conditions such as diabetes, coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease. Eight were in their eighties, two in their seventies, five in their sixties and one man was in his fifties. The youngest woman was 48 and had a pre-existing condition.

One 89-year-old man, surnamed Chen, had a history of high blood pressure, diabetes, coronary heart disease and other conditions. He began experiencing symptoms on January 13, including difficulty breathing but not fever. Five days later, he was admitted to the Wuhan Union Hospital with severe breathing difficulties, and tested positive for pneumonia. He died the following evening.

The 48-year-old woman, surnamed Yin, had suffered from diabetes and had also had a stroke. She first had a fever, aches and pains on December 10 and her condition slowly deteriorated. She was treated at two hospitals in Wuhan before she died on Monday.

Officials in Beijing have been cautious about making definitive statements about the origins and characteristics of the disease, including its incubation period, saying more investigation was needed.

"There’s still a need for further study of the virus over time," said Gao Fu, director of the Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, at a press briefing on Wednesday.

"As for the impact on younger people, according to current epidemiology and what we know right now, they really aren't susceptible," he said.

Patients as young as 15 have been infected with the pneumonia-like virus, according to Wuhan health officials. There are now more than 570 confirmed cases, including some reported in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, the United States, Japan, South Korea and Thailand.

"Bushmeat" has been around for a long time (at least to the 1930s), but it was international travel that spread it

“Most AIDS researchers believe that the ‘bushmeat trade’ allowed the HIV-1 virus, and separately HIV-2, to enter the human bloodstream several times.”
Wuhan a tourist destination. They have been attracting tourists with their "unique street food," such as bat soup

Those are south China delicacies. I have not been south of Shanghai (inside of China) until this trip. Side note: furthest south I’ve been is Jakarta which is just south of the equator. I have made 70 trips crossing the Atlantic or Pacific, but nothing south of Cozumel in the Western Hemisphere.

Two years ago, the flu killed 80,000 people in the US. I don’t understand the panic.

The 2017-2018 flu season was severe for all populations and resulted in an estimated 959,000 hospitalizations and 79,400 deaths. This is the highest number of patient claims since the 2009 flu season.

Bill Gertz article about the two labs in Wuhan linked to Chinese bio warfare
Virus-hit Wuhan has two laboratories linked to Chinese bio-warfare program

One ominous sign, said a U.S. official, is the that false rumors since the outbreak began several weeks ago have begun circulating on the Chinese Internet claiming the virus is part of a U.S. conspiracy to spread germ weapons.

That could indicate China is preparing propaganda outlets to counter future charges the new virus escaped from one of Wuhan’s civilian or defense research laboratories.

Maybe lab mice/rats escaped from one of these labs, multiplied and were then consumed?

From ZeroHedege Did China Steal Coronavirus From Canada And Weaponize It?

"... In March 2019, in mysterious event a shipment of exceptionally virulent viruses from Canada’s NML ended up in China. The event caused a major scandal with Bio-warfare experts questioning why Canada was sending lethal viruses to China. Scientists from NML said the highly lethal viruses were a potential bio-weapon.

Following investigation, the incident was traced to Chinese agents working at NML. Four months later in July 2019, a group of Chinese virologists were forcibly dispatched from the Canadian National Microbiology Laboratory (NML). The NML is Canada’s only level-4 facility and one of only a few in North America equipped to handle the world’s deadliest diseases, including Ebola, SARS, Coronavirus, etc.

The Feds arrested one of Harvard's top professors for lying to them over his involvement ia a Chinese Spy Program
Prosecutors say that Lieber was paid $50,000 per month and given $150,000 a year for living expenses by China’s communist government. He was also given $1.5 million to build a laboratory in Wuhan.
This stuff about Americans giving away or selling secrets to the Chinese has to end

mchammer, it was banned in company too. I also think Chinese professional workers are being instructed to work at home. For on-site functions they are using a skeleton crew.

The Chinese lied about the origin. By at least two weeks it looks like. Perhaps longer. Patient Zero dates to Dec 1 now and he was not connected to the food market as they have been telling us.

Also, despite the CCP crackdown on news, there are some brave nurses in China taking videos on their phones of all the patients, bodies piling up and their lack of supplies (gloves, masks, etc). China has been saying 800 cases. Others say more like 44,000. The Chinese nurses estimate 95,000
