Still sitting here in disbelief about what happened today. Kobe was one of the few NBA players in the game who was a huge supporter of women’s basketball (WNBA and college). Hopefully we can do something special to honor him prior to our next home game.

I think most NBA players are supportive of the WNBA and, by extension NCAAWB, but Kobe was definitely one of those leading the way. The keyboard tough guys are the ones who disrespect or are dismissive of WBB. I wasn’t a fan of Kobe as a player but certainly respected all his efforts to support/promote women’s basketball.

This loss really hurt and I really broke down when I found out about his daughter. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain his wife and oldest daughter are going through. This was not supposed to happen at all

Sad indeed... he was just being a good dad trying to get his baby to her basketball game.

Who is Carol Sundahl? And why is she singling out Geno? Was Sabrina Ionescu also being disrespectful to women's basketball (and all women!) when she dedicated the rest of her season to HER FRIEND? smh

I am Carol Sundahl. I should have made that clear.

I do not believe this assertion is accurate. There's now only one person alive who knows what really happened. I sincerely hope the media is leaving her alone.

What Is the point in you speaking bad about him? Like honestly I would like to know what you get out of doing that? I am tired of the ignorance I keep seeing surrounding Kobe after his passing but nobody ever said anything when he was here. A mother lost her husband and daughter so it doesn't help when people like you speak bad about someone who was loved by so many people around the world.

Okay, glad you made that clear.

So back to the question. Are you also going to call out Sabrina Ionescu for mourning his death? What about all the other countless leaders in the women's basketball universe who have expressed sorrow?

Or do you just have a bug up your bonnet about Geno and you're looking for any excuse to hate on him?

WTF?!!! How the hell does this comment contribute to basketball discussion? It is highly inappropriate and uncouth to speak of this in such a manner.

Yeah now that I think about it, it does sound bad. But it was just something I was thinking about. I was not disrespecting anyone or being rude in anyway. I was just wondering if he would be burried or not. But as far as it contributing to basketball, nobody in this thread has talked about basketball. It's all been about his life outside of basketball and allegations against him so I am not the only one in here discussing things outside of basketball

No... This thread hasn't been ALL about those allegations. In fact, it wasn't even started as that. Glad you can acknowledge your off-color post... and I look forward to discussing more UT hoops with you in the future.

Yea when I read the post I realized it was very out of line and should not have been said.
