Good job at Purdue. A true road win over a ranked opponent will be the highlight of the season. mark the tape.

I'm seriously not trying to be negative Nancy, but outside of the really solid Purdue win this team looks similar to past years. I just hope we played up to Purdue rather than them playing down to us. It would be great to have a run going but I'm just not believing yet.

I'm pretty sure there will be some ups and downs, but I think it will be a good year overall. We're moving the ball around better and playing together better as a team. We've lacked team chemistry in the past. We've got some now, hopefully it will continue to improve. Shaka is no slouch as a coach. He's had some rough patches early on here, but he'll be all right.

We will have to agree to disagree on this point.

Now that we are five games into the season it's pretty clear we will win and lose by the three. It's the exact offense we've run since the coaching change. We are hitting more than last year, but this staff proved yet again last night if the threes arent falling they have no clue what else to do.

We'll have to wait and see if last night is a confidence killer. Knowing the three is the main scoring option will build more pressure to make them all which as you know causes more misses in bigger games.

The announcers in California game said Texas runs a stand around and ball handler beat your man offense.... LOL

A list of our 11 NBA one and dones -- 8 are rick barnes players/3 are shaka's
-- 2 didn't make the NCAA tournament (Allen & Hayes)
-- 6 didn't make out of the first weekend
-- 3 made it to the elite eight (Aldridge, Tucker & Augustin)
has any other NCAA team done less with more?

Full Disclosure: I was for this hire and boy WAS I WRONG!

Circled this game while here in Vegas = Baylor was Free Money. Love the Horns but this was strictly “Vegas business”.

Shaka has no concept of a spread offense And while he has had talent he just has no concepts on the offensive side of the ball! His VCU “style” was more along the lines “40 minutes of hell” pressing and disruption.

This team is a disaster and my wallet thanks him!

But I’d rather see the Horns competing! It Sux!

We will move on from him next year because Del Conte needs a splash in new stadium. Fingers Crossed!

The state of the program is beyond sad. We are at a point that every team in conference circles their home game with The Horns as a win (the upper half of the conference as a gimme) and circle their trip to Austin as one of their best chances to get one on the road (the upper half views it as a probable/must win to keep up with the rest). I’m sure CdC knows that he has to make a change, but his hands may be tied by the money situation. I doubt the big cigars really care, and CdC may need even bigger money next year at this time if Herman doesn’t dig himself out of the hole he created. So there is no point in really complaining anymore, what you see is what you get with Shaka. As for me, I’ve gone from season ticket holder during the height of Barnes years(and driving to and from Houston for every game) to just not caring right now (and not watching at all) because the team is so poorly coached and prepared that they are no longer competitive on a consistent basis. Powers should be strapped to a chair like in Clockwork Orange and forced to watch a continuous loop of this crap(along with football games under Strong).

Texas hired Shaka for reasons similar to hiring Charlie and is getting similar results. We just don't care about basketball all that much....Let him ride out his contract and then see ya later....

I actually feel bad for the reporters who are forced to watch our games. Even if they are paid, forcing anyone to watch every single game is a crime against humanity!

With six games left looks like best case scenario is we go 3-3 which would have us end the season 17-12. I'm going to guess we go 2-4 leaving us at 16-13 on the year with a powder puff non con. My 15.5 win O/U line looks pretty close which is sad.

It was true then, and it’s true now. Our guys play together as a team. The chemistry gets more and more organic.

If it wasn’t for the stupid virus, we would have gone far last year. We’ll get our chance for our deepest run ever at the Big Dance.
