I’m sure the players appreciate the recognition but they should have just announced the Leiberman award and ended the non-suspense, Ionescu is going to get her third. As far as the McClain award, that’ll either be Cox or Hebard (2018 winner).
Personally, I think listing the three finalists for those awards just highlights what most of us are feeling - why has Karen accomplished so little on the court with so much talent on the roster. It’s mind boggling to say the least.
Absolutely a must win. A loss to a Kansas team with one conference win would be totally demoralizing! Texas needs to finish strong to get in the tournament and out of the 8/9 seed.
I'm trying to listen to the radio feed but can't hear anything. No problems listening to the baseball game. Anyone else having trouble with the radio feed?
Okay, if this team loses to a Kansas team that has won only one conference game, KA needs to resign immediately!
Foul trouble. Collier missed all but 9 seconds of the 2nd quarter due to foul trouble, and Celeste went to the bench with her 2nd foul several minutes later. Lots of turnovers. Aston already spent two of her timeouts ... although I'm not sure what good her timeouts really do they team.
OKay, the gals splashed some cold water on themselves at halftime! Close game now, and Joyner in on her way to a double-double.
Down 8 with 5 minutes to go. After coming back to take the lead by one, they reverted back to second quarter playing.
Fire Karen. Fire Shaka. Burn both programs to the ground and start over. This is truly rock bottom. It’s like when Strong loss to Kansas in football.
10 points left at the FT line which could have won the game. Aren't you supposed to make those in your sleep at this stage of your career???
I hope there isn’t an after game press conference. It would be ugly. Just let the team slink off into the night.
Agree that both BB teams need new leadership. Am questioning whether UT is a "destination" for basketball coaches.
I would say that probably marks the end of Astons tenure at Texas. She had lost the team! What a shame with the talent she has on this team.
Karen lost the team a long time ago. As for the next coach - they must Be able to sign top TEXAS talent - period. Cannot import a coach from another state who doesn't have a track record with Texas kids. Period. I don't give a damn about what they've done in the SEC, Big Wherever - if they can't recruit the state of Texas it will be (another) disaster. Be able to connect with players without all the ******** games that Karen plays - games that don't return any ROI b/c in the end if they don't respond to their coaches, we're sunk Hire a staff that is competent and can execute THEIR area of expertise - which means we need to see evidence that the new coach is at least LISTENING - something we know Aston never did OFFENSE - OFFENSE - OFFENSE Identity Identity Identity - followed by Texas PRIDE PRIDE PRIDE Be able to galvanize the Austin community to get folks back in the building I do not give two craps about any conversations on this board that don't revolve around making Texas great again There are coaches who would love to get their hands on a high profile job like Texas but not all of them are the right fit for Texas for the reasons above Karen, thanks for a few decent years - and now I officially bid you farewell.
