Always good to see more schools playing baseball. Texas deserves some credit for scheduling them - things can always go sideways.

BON review of Saturday's game and some highlights. Horns looking for 8-0 start this afternoon. Ty Madden throws complete game in 2-1 Texas victory
Great that we got good pitching , but seriously..Worried about our hitting after the Alumni game....Only 2 runs against a team that hasn't played in 40 years....Sure hope we can hit their Sunday pitcher.
Seriously? You must be a joy to live with. I talked about being worried after the alumni game too. After a 7-0 start out scoring opponents 37-12 I'm a whole lot less worried about what happened in a scrimmage and WINNING 2-1 yesterday. This is a game they probably would have blown last year. Good win Horns!!
Summary from Texassports: Baseball completes sweep on Williams’ walk-off homer - University of Texas Athletics
Not sure if you read the article that talked about Boise State's return but 3 of their pitchers are transfer players. I assume those three were the starters this weekend, so they aren't freshmen playing. Also, it's not like all their players haven't played baseball in 40 years. Who knows, maybe they surprise their conference and win a few games in conference and place better than last like the league voted on in the preseason.
Sure pitching gives up some runs, but a win like that feels good that the BATS can answer. Our problems lately have been due to horrid times at the plate... I like winning with clutch hitting.
I like the start, but the the competition is really, really bad. Our next 8 games will tell us where this team is now. Good news, really can't get any worse than last year.
I guess he doesn't know the players aren't sixty years old. Yep they got new players in those 40 years. Weren't even born yet when they quit the first time!
We did not look sharp Saturday or Sunday, but I will not complain about 8-0! Now the tough games begin....
Point is this BSU team surely isn't on any kind of power 5 level. Its kind of like SMU football after the death penalty...maybe worse. Who worth a crap wants to play for Boise State right now ? I'm happy for the 8-0 start. Its better than losing these games, ( Beating Rice was good, but not sure how good they are ), and beating BSU, Lamar, etc is not like beating the programs we will face in the Big 12. The next week or so will show us what we have....Softball is in the same boat. The next week will show just how competitive we are among the better programs. After the baseball season we had last year, this kind of schedule and start is good for the program. Build confidence early, then see what we really have. Not getting hopes up until we start beating quality teams and playing somewhat error free ball in both softball and baseball.
