I agree with his analysis that impeachment restricts the pardoning power, but his attempt to tie Stone to Ukraine is laughably attenuated.

The NYT has done a lovely exposé celebrating the pastoral life of _____
    renaissance crackhead Hunter Biden

"LOS ANGELES — Dressed in Oxford boots, jeans and a long sleeve T-shirt, Hunter Biden ushered a reporter down a stone walkway, into a pool house-turned-art studio in the Hollywood Hills.

It was filled with colorful works of decorative abstraction — psychedelic florals and ethereal patterns that look like nature viewed through a microscope, leaning toward the surreal. There were nearly 100 of them, all by his own hand. Some were signed RH Biden, for Robert Hunter Biden, the 50-year-old son of the former vice president...."

How exactly does he afford $12,000 per month in rent? I wonder how many guys who got kicked out of the military can afford that. Is Burisma still paying him?

If Biden wins the election, expect a lot of people who get sweet deals with the government to also be big buyers of Hunter's "art." I think he's too pretentious to go full Billy Carter and start endorsing products (though I could see him emulating Billy's Libya deal). However, if Biden loses, expect this stint as an artist to end and for his hot wife to divorce him.

Not impeach, but that should probably draw a censure.

It is telling that Chuck knows nothing will happen to him.

Chuckles is trying to lie his way of it today (of course)
But Mitch will have none of it

“Contrary to what the Democratic leader has tried to claim, he very clearly was not addressing Republican lawmakers or anybody else. He literally directed the statement to the justices, by name. And he said, quote, ‘if you go forward with these awful decisions,’ which could only apply to the court itself. The minority leader of the United States Senate threatened two associate justices of the U.S. Supreme Court. Period.”

But the facts are that he threatened a co-equal branch of the Govt and committed criminal incitement of violence

The Liberals are out of control. They have annointed themselves as the party of the country. It's sick. They are doing far more damage to our country than we've seen in a long time. Check what Donna Brazile said this week in telling a Republican to go to hell and that they had no right to question the Democrat primary process. These people must be crushed at the polls.

Can the West Mall brain trust explain how a US senator can be impeached?

Can't be impeached but can be expelled. However, Schumer didn't do anything that requires that he be expelled.

How would you make that argument? He was found not guilty on both counts. It is difficult to see how he loses any power with the not guilty verdicts.

A Senator can't be impeached but there should be consequences for what he said.
It is sick that he knew he would get away with this and that his threats would resonate with other sick people.

There is no consequence if the people of New York support his rhetoric. Schumer is a product of where he lives. He is giving them what they want. You can tell rule of law and the Constitution are not high on the priority list for New York voters. They are for Progressive control of the USA.

Because the Constitution doesn't require removal. It says, "The President ... shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of impeachment." It doesn't make removal a prerequisite, and frankly it makes sense. If you remove the President, then he no longer has the power to pardon anyway, because he's no longer the President.

The author goes off the rails, because his analysis is laughably overbroad, and he knows it. Stone's conviction has no bearing at all on the impeachment.

Consider this hypothetical involving Bill Clinton. (I'm using him, because he was impeached for something illegal and therefore something that could have involved a criminal conviction to pardon.) Let's suppose that Clinton and Vernon Jordan (Clinton's sleazy advisor) had come up with a plan to get Monica Lewinsky to deny the affair under oath by having Jordan bribe her with money.

Now suppose Jordan is charged with suborning perjury. Could Clinton pardon Jordan? No, because his conviction would relate to the matter for which Clinton was impeached.

We KNEW there were at least pockets of New York that don't care about the Constitution or the rule of law when they were stupid enough to vote AOC into office. They did so despite knowing (or should reasonably have known) that AOC was contrary to their best interests, as was evidenced, as one example, by pissing away the jobs that Amazon would have brought to the State.

That makes sense. You are right about trying to tie Stone to Ukraine.

That was nothing more than a hack trying to come up with a rationale to crap on Trump and accuse him of corruption if he decided to pardon Stone.

    Interesting 4th floor
I voted for Mitt. Didn't have a choce but he seemed decent if weak. The more I learn about his the more I dislike him as a person and his policies.
Contrast that with President Trump. I voted for him but was not sure I liked him.
The more I know Trump and the more I see what he has done and is doing for all segments of our country the more I like him.
If you have not watched the Vid of him on Fox Townhall do it.

The more footage of Bernie being Bernie and discussing how he is going to bankrupt the United States, the better.

None of the Fox viewership was apt to vote for him, but the reality is that he cannot help inserting his foot into his mouth. At least Biden does it without realizing the fool he is making of himself...Bernie is a loon and repeats the lunacy time and again.
