The beginning of the end ..........Remember the Alamo!

    March 6,1836

Today we celebrate 184th anniversary of the battle of he Alamo. The Thirteenth day of siege.
At 4 o’clock on the morning of March 6, 1836, Santa Anna advanced his men to within 200 yards of the Alamo’s walls. Just as dawn was breaking, the Mexican bloodcurdling bugle call of the Deguello echoed the meaning of the scarlet flag above San Fernando: no quarter.
All the Texans died. Santa Anna’s loss was 1,544 men. More than 500 Mexicans lay wounded, their groans mingling with the haunting strains of the distant bugle calls. For the Texans, the Battle of the Alamo became a symbol of heroic resistance and a rallying cry in their struggle for independence.
We are thankful to people like James Bowie, Davy Crockett and William B. Travis for their heroic deeds and for everything they've done to Texas. Their fight against tyranny and lawlessness of the federal authorities will never be forgotten. Pretty sure their military victories will inspire us all to never give up and fight for independence!

Mexican casualties did not approach that number; he barely had that many combat troops in San Antonio. Jim Bowie was a fraudulent land speculator and a slave smuggler; Travis was an incompetent commander with a big mouth. Crockett was a good man

Santa Anna was the worst president we ever had, even worse than Buchanan and Bonespur.

If you ever go to Surfside there is a rock stating the location of the signing of the treaty with Mexico at Fort Velasco.
