UT grad as a Fine Arts Major, early 80s. Had attended a few women’s half-court games in high school to root for a couple of friends. Then sadly forgot about this when I arrived in Austin, during the building years of the program. A friend coaxed me into attending a game in the fall of ‘87, and with that one game, I was hooked, attended all remaining games for the season, and became a season ticket holder the next year, which I remain today, though I now live in New Mexico—family uses my tickets in my absence. Though I missed the national championship, I thankfully witnessed some amazing games with terrific players. As long as I’ve been an attendee, I make no claim to great basketball knowledge, just a genuine fan that’s looking forward to the programs return to elite status. I’ve learned a great deal from several of you, and I thank you for that. Look forward to learning more. Special shoutout to Oakman and the information you provide on the forum. Don’t blame you for not being around through the fray that seems to accompany the WBB threads, but glad to see you’re still willing to associate here when you have the time.
Stay safe and be well. Remember, though the option may remove some context from a thread (which can be kinda amusing—like watching TV with the sound off), the “ignore” button is a beautiful thing.
P.S. Also thanks to Dionysus for shutting that sh¡t down.
