Is it time to close Universities? They are milking the population and causing unnecessary debt. As more schools offer online courses at the same price, it’s time to reconsider education.

But keep college football for the love of Gawd. Otherwise, I agree.

Switch to 2 or 3 year programs. First 1-2 years can be done remotely. Labs, research and such for upper class years.

Just relentlessly cut out cost. Get rid of all the administrators that don't teach or do research. Reduce the perks on campus. Put everything possible on line and focus Professors and TAs on answering questions and working closer with specific students. Put text books on line and make them public is government money is paying for them.

Keep football and basketball. Change the stadium set ups if needed.

Couldn’t agree more. As much as I enjoyed my (pretty affordable) college experience I think the world has moved past this old institution, at least in its current form.

Plus, young people today have more information and resources at their fingertips than we could have imagined possible just 25 years ago.

    also ... public primary/secondary school.

The bureacrats had better be careful ... the students are liable to learn how to think for themselves!

my 10 year old nephew was doing his homework earlier this week, when the Apr Fool's tweet from Abbott said all students would have to repeat the school year ...

My brother went to advise his son, expecting his reaction to be one of upset ....

but the boy, again, doing his homework, placed his pencil on the table and announced "... then I'm done with homework."

    LOL
