Maybe we're starting to figure this out. It's amazing how the actual drug works better than eating fish bowl cleaner.

I have read of about 5 of these anecdotes. That tells me, they need to give these medications to all people who are in the hospital. There is upside with basically no downside.

Damn, wouldn't it be funny if Trump was right and we are all back to normal by Easter.

The big thing about the hydroxychloroquine to me is that this is an anti-malaria drug that has been around for 50 years. That says to me that, even it does not cure CV, it's not going to kill you.

That’s consistent with the feedback I have received from two highly regarded medical professionals, an addiction specialist and Internist, and an endocrinologist who had been the head of Governmental Affairs for Medtronic.

Sabre Horn posted a link to a farsighted hero in this pandemic yesterday -- a South Korean doctor. Our political leaders in Both parties have been hopeful, not visionary. The blame shifting is unbecoming since no politician seems to be on record with a better plan.

From my heuristic without watching the 35 minute video (I listened to it until my phone rang and I was going to have to read it all), SK shut it down because they tested early and often. They then not only quarantined the positives but they drilled into their history and tested all that they'd come into contact as well. There's never really reached "community spread" due to that. That ship has sailed in the US.

Living close to China, South Korea has a lot more experience dealing with this kind of stuff than the West. We've learned a lot from this. South Korea learned from some hard lessons in 2015 from MERS.

Disagree wholey, if you know what I mean
I had ordered a jumbo box of TP on Amazon about a month before the bidets. That order got lost. By pure coincidence, it somehow arrived today. And everyone is now bemoaning their appearance. "What are we ever going to do with that much toilet paper?!," they all said. This after using the bidets for just a few weeks (and after initial skepticism). This box of TP will definitely last us to 2021.

It's one of those things that after two weeks of use in you will be asking, "why did I wait until now to do this?" Plus, "why was I killing so many trees and taxing the 'water plant' when i didnt have to?" But to each his own.

So, tell us Joe Fan, is it blast of cold water? Seems like that would wake you up and get you going on cold winter's day.

I think the TP hoarding fad has about run it's course. Wife has had TP on her HEB curbside orders for weeks and never got a single roll. This weeks order (placed more than a week ago) had a giant package of TP included. Combined with the giant package she stood in line to get last week, that puts us on the threshold of being TP hoarders.

I don’t get the bidet thing either
You still have to dry your wet butt after right?
What if there’s a crusty dingle-doo stuck there that needs a little elbow grease, water won’t cut that
It seems like a sissy French thing if you ask me

Every bidet I have come in contact with is. Even if you plumbed it with hot water, you wouldn't get warm water on the first shot, just as you don't have instant hot water at your kitchen sink.

Surprisingly (or perhaps not), you often find them in better homes in Louisiana. I prefer the wet wipe which has been on my hemorrhoid prevention regimen for 25 years.

I've got two bidets in my house. The temperature is adjustable, but like with any sink, you have to wait for the water to heat up.

They can reduce but not eliminate toilet paper use. You're supposed to use TP to get the really nasty stuff off. It would be disgusting to use the bidet straight off the toilet. You squat over it and let the water rinse off your *** and wash off the residual "waste." After you're done, you use more toilet paper (or a small towel in fancy places) to dry off.

I'm not a big fan. It works, but it's a hassle. You can get just as clean with flushable wipes.

I have some Facebook friends who posted something like this about 3 weeks ago. "Ignore the media for 3 weeks and everything will be fine." Should I contact them in case they drive to town and think we've had The Rapture?

Instead of details, I will just declare the product it works as intended and better than I expected. I was always opposed to them too, but now I see the error of my ways. I once was lost, but now .....
If I was building a new house, I would put a separate free standing bidet unit in each restroom. And they would all have warm water which I imagine is even, but I cant speak to that with experience.

At today’s press conference, it was said that the pace of testing was 100k per day. Not sure if that means that all the people who want to be tested are being tested. Regardless, it appears we are over the hump for testing, particularly when cases are expected to peak in a week. Should be downhill after that.

Some tests are taking a week or more to process... the timeline is so very complicated on this.

    MC,

Don't want to rain on your parade, but we have a family friend, who meets only one of the "danger zones" and is in good health.

THREE times test came back negative; today is in ICU.

Is it the virus, poor testing, or the testing centers?

You already know where my vote is going.

    Crockett,

The new Abbott Laboratories machine introduced today can turn results in five minutes.

Forgot to add, it's about the size of a two slice toaster.

So I have a question. My symptoms have been mild for 4-5 days. Coughing a lot but more in the evening and night. Tightness in my chest but no fever. I am working daily as much as I can. No ibuprofen. Vitamins. Should I get tested? My wife doesn’t want me to due to the 14 day quarantine by the health department. We know they check up on you too. My tele health appointment is Wednesday.

Sabre beat me to it. The abbot lab machine was on display at trump press conference. Trump says abbot is rolling them out this week to hospitals, large urgent care centers, etc.
