I'm not sure I'd call this expected, and it is not a good thing to lose a Senior olineman with experience...whether he was set to start or not.
There is speculation that Spring football would have been a determining experience on whether he would stay as a starter or be a GT somewhere else. Evidently he lost confidence in himself with no Spring practice to help him along.
...too bad. I wish he'd stayed. Maybe he could have benefited from a dose of Stuart Smalley's Daily Affirmation...
If I wasn't the best at what I did, I worked my butt off until I was. Too many of these kids quit instead of seeing things through. There is something you learn in life about perseverance and fighting through the hard times.
Absolutely. I always would rather be the dumbest guy in an advanced class than the smartest guy in a normal class. Challenge raises a person's response to the highest level.
That might prove to be a key retention. Everything may change with no football this Fall, though. 2021 Spring Football Season followed by a Fall Schedule, anyone?
