You had written above you thought he needed to stay at safety

We missed out on a Corner from Arizona that I raved about. He was big strong and fast and I called him a can't miss prospect. We have in Owens a guy that is Bigger, Stronger, and faster than kelee Ringo. We need to train him to be a lock down corner.

Reading some of THs comments on strengths/weaknesses of team and position groups reveals they are apparently cross training both Jake Smith and Jordan Whittington for a variety of uses/alignments.
...Could be lethal to opposing defenses with an experienced Senior QB and an improving oline.

I think part of Yurchich's strategy is cross training all WR at all WR posititions.

There are already indications that schools will be eliminating some sports
Of course, they will always have the Title IX minefield to negotiate

I read they have also considered starting the season in February.
Obviously this would affect recruiting and training going into fall of 2021.
But I would rather see this than a cancellation.

Yes, but what we really need is a vaccine. How long does that take?:smile1:

A vaccine in quantity July-Sept of 2021. However, substantial treatment drugs by the end of 2020 if not sooner. The ability to treat and release is the key to keeping the hospitals working at more normal levels.

I think the French tested the crew of there carrier and 60% of the positives were asymptomatic. The problem is while it is known these individuals can shed the virus, no one understands their role in infection rates. Iceland is also ahead of most nations in testing and there they think about 50% of all positives are asymptomatic.

I fear the US politicos do not understand the importance of testing, particularly of the two types of anti-bodies (ImG and IgG) required for immunity. In that respect, we are at 3rd world levels. Isolation works in halting the spread of infections, but the virus is not eliminated.

The best thing that could happen is that the CCP could be overthrown once enough of its citizens learn how badly it has lied to its own citizenry. Hubei (where Wuhan is located) has seen numerous posts from brave citizens calling out the CCP for its mishandling and its continuing misinformation. The necessity for the freedom of speech without government retribution (a hallmark of totalitarian control) is now widely recognized there. They know they have been misled egregiously by the authorities.

With Hong Kong as the example, there is little chance of a popular citizen led overthrow of the Chinese Govt imo.

Seems amazing but a 10-win season by Sam Ehlinger would give him 30 wins as a starter. Which would tie him with Vince for No. 2 in school history, behind only Colt (45).

No way you can compare him to Vince. Unless they thought about moving Sam to receiver.
All jokes aside no person has ever in any circumstance has made as much an impact on a university as Vince Young to Texas.
    Arguments?
    Lew Alcindor
    Tim Tebow
    Jim Brown
    Michael Vick
    Bo Jackson
I know I’m missing some, we have the time who has impacted a university, and it’s sports more than VY?

Syr-excuse never won a championship with Jim Brown

VT never won a championship with Vick

Auburn never won a championship with Bo Jackson

Wooden won two back to back championships the years before Alcindor.

Argument could be made for Michael Jordan because not only did he win the championship, but he also kept giving back to UNC, but he made UNC a Nike power school. Yes, UNC was a BB power before, but they didn't have Phil Knight's money.

To find someone comparable to VY, I'd have to go back to Billy Cannon, Sammy Baugh, Davey O'Brien, maybe Doak Walker.

Bottom line, there is only one Vince, and we were blessed to watch him make us very happy.

His strategy better be to teach them to run to open grass. Also run routes that force defenders to cover the entire field. Our route tree was like a Charlie brown Christmas tree.

I'd say a 4th string QB turned starter who totally turned Royal's legacy around to go UNDEFEATED as a starter and win a national championship, fits right up there with VY.... His exploits were just as dramatic as VY's....just watch the 1969 Arkansas game. The long bomb on 4th down was clutch. The long run for Texas' first score was awesome. His clutch plays vs Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl. No his play wasn't as flashy as VY because the game wasn't as wide open back then, and he didn't have VY's size or speed....But he was a badass.....in both football and baseball....James Street !!! He should have had his number retired way before Colt or Vince.

Spurrier at UF comes to mind. Coaching alone... he might be great but not "bigger" than the program. But also the Heisman and Walter Camp and whatever else he won as a player. He could probably walk in there today and just take over.
