Yes believe me they do. Most of the time parents will have specific days on when there player goes to practice. So if a team practices 5 days a week then the player might attend 2 or 3 set days of the week depending on the distance but it's the sacrifices parents make to get there kid to compete against the best of the best and we thank them for that.

Ka recruits? Aaliyah Moore already loved everything about Texas regardless. I will say she did a good job with staying consistent of the recruitment of Moore but I think Vic and his staff were recruiting her as well so with his track record and staff and everything the great university of Texas has to offer athletically & educational wise this commitment was a done deal as soon as CDC hired Vic.

Coach Aston did a great job with a lot of the leg work. Hopefully Vic and his staff can get the most out of them now.

High school girls basketball: Moore's Aaliyah Moore commits to Texas

Oklahoma’s top girls high school basketball player has committed to the University of Texas.

Aaliyah Moore, who is ranked as the No. 7 overall national recruit in the 2021 class by ESPN’s HoopGurlz, announced her commitment to Texas via Twitter Saturday afternoon.

“Today is about my family, friends, teammates and coaches that have had an impact on my life,” Gatorade’s 2019-20 Oklahoma Girls Basketball Player of the Year said in her near two-minute video. “I don't take for granted the opportunities that I had. I am thankful for the Lord’s grace.”

The junior forward averaged 21.7 points and 11.1 rebounds a game to lead Moore High School to the Class 6A state tournament, the program’s first state appearance in 22 years.

“This road has not been easy,” said Aaliyah, The Oklahoman's Super 5 Player of the Year. “The sacrifice, the hard work, setbacks, triumphs and dedication has fueled me to be great.”

Aaliyah plays AAU basketball with CyFair Elite, a program in Houston that is known for sending players to Team USA. In 2019 she helped lead Team USA to the gold medal in the FIBA Americas U16 Championship, averaging 7.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists as USA went undefeated.

“This journey has granted me the opportunity to travel the world and develop long lasting relationships,” Aaliyah said. “Those experiences have shaped me into the young woman I am today.”

She chose Texas over powerhouse programs such as Notre Dame, Florida State, Syracuse, South Carolina and UCLA.

“I’ve been blessed to have many high profile teams recruit me,” Aaliyah said. “With that being said, I have committed to the University of Texas.”

The star forward captioned her commitment video “home away from home.”

I can see that racerx5908 in softball, but team chemistry in basketball matters way more.

Not sure if I’m going to be busted for this but a recruiting website called and spoke with Aaliyah about her commitment about 20 minutes ago:

Just finished a conversation with new Texas Commit Aaliyah Moore. The 5-Star forward was quick to mention the family atmosphere felt deeply when she took her first visit to Austin

"What stood out most to me was the family/community atmosphere," she said,"I am definitely a city girl and big family person and to see that (in Austin) was very reassuring."

"I have a great relationship with coach Vic (Schaefer) and the staff. We clicked immediately after our first talk and I trust them 100%. In the many talks we've had, I could tell that they had a vision and that I wanted to be a part of it."

We then shifted gears to her play on the court. Moore spoke to her ability to play multiple positions.

Moore said, "I'm versatile and a very hard worker. Which is why Texas is the right fit for me. I know the coaches will guide and help me get to where I want to be."

I'm as excited as the rest of us at the recent commits. I'd just like to say that I was thoroughly impressed with Aaliyah Moore's video. It showed her abilities, and confidence, but at the same time her character and her humility. I think we're getting not just a great basketball player, but a great person too.

Looks about correct to me. It also reminds me of that infamous 5-year business plan from corporate life. You HAVE to have a plan; however, it is only good for a VERY short time. If you updated this in about 6 months (or a week), it might be amazing the changes....for 20-21 as well as out years. I am still perflexed by the silence of P Johnson. And the high potential of one or more TROs before season starts. It DOES gives a wonderful overview of current state. Appreciate your doing this.

Pure speculation, but I would expect attrition (in all its forms) to remove one Junior, one Sophomore, and one Freshman from this year's roster in the next 12 months. That would reduce the scholarships to 13 for next season. That's still a heck of a lot of players, so there is no certainty that the staff would sign more for 2021.
