Lol, the press is getting their asses handed to them by Kayleigh and they don't like it. She is guilty of calling them out and pointing out their hypocrisy. Hypocrites don't like being called out.

I think it goes a lot deeper than just their hypocrisy, she is showing the whole country their deception and leftest agenda. They hate that even more.

This is how TDS makes you dumber. Really, a terrible condition.

I read him quite a bit and I listen to the Remnant podcast pretty regularly. I don't notice his views shifting left. In fact, he has been critical of people like Jennifer Rubin and Max Boot, who have basically become partisan, ideological liberals because of Trump hatred. However, I do agree that he spends an inordinate amount of time criticizing Trump, even if others are much worse.

I also agree that he isn't being fair to Kayleigh McEnany. I get their point about press secretaries telling the media what questions they should be asking. However, as media-defenders often do, they don't look at this in context or assume any responsibility on the part of the media. Previous press secretaries wouldn't have done what she did, but no previous Adminstration has faced a more hostile and bad faith-driven press. Until they clean up their act and focus on reporting news rather than flagrant political activism, I'm not going to hassle McEnany for slapping them around and scolding them.

Well, it's sorta like those who called out Al Capone for what he really was, not a giving philanthropist providing soup kitchens to the starving and jobless. Unfortunately it didn't end well for those who called him out.

Hey, I wasn't sure where to put this question but I'm a little unsure of the Flynn situation. If he pled guilty then don't we go to the penalty phase? Isn't the trial over? Or did he withdraw the plea?

    Not sure how that works.

Flynn was trying to withdraw his plea when the DOJ decided to drop charges. The penalty phase was delayed multiple times due to various reasons.

Ok. I just hadn't read up on the details. So had the DOJ not dropped the charges would Flynn have been able to change his plea or when does it become too late?

Flynn did lie to him. And to the FBI. He plead guilty twice.

The judge is still looking into the case.

So you believe the judge can accept the defendants change of plea from guilty to not guilty and force the DA to try the case? Or is the judge doing this to bring attention to what he believes to be fishy decisions by the DOJ?

I will defer to legal minds on what may play out. That said, career prosecutors have quit their federal jobs over the meddling of their new boss who's laying cover for Trump's allies (Roger Stone and Flynn). That should concern us all. Also, the big "breaking news" on the information about Obama was that he said when they discovered that Flynn was communicating with Kysliak "let's make sure we go by the book on this". SCANDALOUS!!!!! Dude contacted a Russian Diplomat regarding sanctions. He knew the conversation was likely going to be captured since he had been the DNI in a past life. They figured out it was him. They asked him about it and he lied. He's either too dishonest to hold a position that high or too stupid. And, to remind everyone, Obama told Trump to not hire Flynn before all of this played out.

You know more than Pence who was right there? Did you know that he plead guilty to keep his son out of the investigation? This is a fact that we discovered declassifying the FBI files.

WHY he plead guilty is irrelevant. If his son weren't a twitter troll he'd have nothing to worry about. He plead guilty. They had him recorded and then he lied about it. Crystal. MF. Clear.

Man, if you can't see that this was nothing but a scam investigation then I can't help you. If I put you in a room for several hours answering questions and trip you up just once or you misremember something then I have you.
This whole FBI investigation was premised on a dossier made up of Russian disinformation and lying to FISA courts so they could permission to spy.

This had nothing to do with the dossier. It was really simple. Did you talk to Kislyak? Are you sure? Ok. They gave him ample opportunity to tell the truth.

David Frum is a kook. This **** is going to age about as well as the other anti-Trump **** you've spouted over the last few years.

BS. Where is the paper trail that shows he lied? The original interview report was lost and the subsequent one was edited by folks not present at the interview.

First 5 paragraphs was pure TDS. Not sure how Frum knows Flynn lied to FBI. He is just slid past the evidence part. And the best part is that Frum insinuates that any discussions with the Russians is inherently bad. WTF?

“Flynn’s lies mattered not because of some technicality about the Logan Act, the ancient and much-disregarded law forbidding private diplomacy. Flynn’s lies mattered because they may have concealed a deal between Trump and Russia over sanctions.”

WTF? Is this illegal? Note article was written May 8 and as of today the DNI office is trying to release the transcripts to the public. Ever going to hear an apology from Frum?

I still think Flynn lied to the FBI. Maybe it was a simple misstatement based on a bad memory. They asked him if he talked to Kislyak and he said no. The FBI had already heard recordings of Flynn talking to Kislyak.

I think this is one of those situations that Flynn is guilty of the letter of the law, but not the spirit. He wasn't colluding with Russia. He wasn't doing anything illegal or unethical. The FBI did deceive him. Called him in under false pretenses.

That is why he was able to get his case dropped. Even with the lie and the guilty plea, the government didn't have much of a case.

The attorney general from MO said they didn’t have evidence for a conviction.

Flynn confirmed he talked with Kislyak. It was whether he discussed sanctions with Kislyak that is at issue.

The FBI interview was entrapment. The agents couldn’t say, “Mr Flynn we need you on the record for this, because we will prosecute you later if you aren’t telling the whole truth.” If they did, Flynn would have stepped outside to get a lawyer. The agents had a casual conversation. Flynn didn’t think it was anything where he felt obligated to tell the agents everything he knew.

Flynn rightly perceived he had no obligation to tell the agents the whole truth. What he didn’t know was that these agents were acting in bad faith.
