Did YOU pay for it or did some manner of insurance pay for it? And if it was YOU that paid, is there truth to the rumor that you signed up for a second opinion? (I kid, I kid...)
Yes. However, most German doctors won't bill American insurance. Those who have a lot of American patients do (and charge a lot more), but most don't. I didn't choose this doctor because of cost though. I chose him, because every other gastroenterologist I called wasn't taking appointments because of Coronavirus. He was pretty reputable too though - well-reviewed, experienced, etc.
I heard on the radio this morning that Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff, a liberal leftist, who appears daily on San Antonio TV News casts with a COVID-19 update (and loves the political bully pulpit it gives him), encouraged viewers to circumvent the Texas Supreme court's ruling that shot down more liberal mail-in voting restrictions last night. He suggested that there are loop holes in the current law that they can exploit. He told people not to say it was because of the fear of catching COVID-19, but that they needed the ballot because of some other illness that prevented them from going to the polls or that they were over 65, etc. In other words, lie if you have to. It's OK since this is for the greater good of mankind.
I wonder why Dems want mail in ballots so much they blatantly call for lying? So blatant they don't care who knows.
I hope they do and I hope their ballots get tossed out. I'm going to the poll to vote and if they they do allow for mail in voting I have a whole grave yard full of voters who will get their say. And they all are for Trump.
I do absentee because my polling place is way out in the sticks. I don't have to make up some reason. If I forget to request it I vote early.
Typically polling places are not that far from people's residence. Maybe things are different in Ok? How far away is your polling place from your current residence? Must not be too far if you use it for early voting
Hmmmm.... Questions raised over hydroxychloroquine study which caused WHO to halt trials for Covid-19
My polling place is about a 15 minute drive all on un-lined county line roads. If I go vote early it's a 25 minute drive on a 4 lane highway but it's on Saturday so I can go at my leisure. I also don't have to hear Bubba (and yes, I also appreciate the irony) have this conversation: Bubba: "I want to vote for Trump. Why can't I do that?" Poll Worker: "Well sir, you're actually a registered Democrat so that's your ballot." Bubba [tossing ballot at the worker]: "You can keep it, I ain't votin' for any of those fools!" Poll worker: "Sir, I gave you the ballot. You don't have to vote but I have to have you at least put the blank ballot into the machine"
I get a kick out of how we're OK with sending every American a $1,200 check but we're not trusting it for voting. Also, some states are already almost all mail in voting. Seems like they have a higher participation and no more voter fraud. Am I wrong? (Yes, rhetorical)
Actually, most were not MAILED a check. A majority had direct deposit. It seems it was mostly the dead people getting checks in the mail...and a small handful like me that don't get refunds and don't feel like giving the routing information to the IRS for any of the accounts, even the throwaway type that the three-dollar class action checks get placed into. And now it is not even a check being mailed...it is now debit cards. Cannot wait for the whining from people about having to pay a fee to extract funds from the card.
I was one of the lucky ones to get the debit card because the government doesn’t have my bank info (I mail a check every year to the IRS for about $500-1000). You can withdraw cash one time without an atm fee. After that there are fees. However, no fee if you use to purchase. I got significant money because I have 4 kids who are 16 and less. That money doesn’t taper away.
Bubba Do you live at the address on your voter registration? But Good on you for making the effort to drive all that way to vote.

A. Why wouldn't I? When I tried to register using my business address the lady told me it was a felony so I decided that would be a poor choice. B. Yes. I live 0.25 miles into a different county than the little town we live in sits. C. Thanks.
89 year old mother and 88 year old mother in law both live in Austin, TX Travis County. Did absentee ballot request for both in August 2018 for Nov 2018 election. One in assisted living the other no longer drives and lives alone. Both received application, filled out and notarized/witness etc and dropped off at Travis County office as instructed. Both received absentee ballot for vote by mail for Nov 2018 election. One in hospital voted by mail the other did early voting while shopping at Randalls. Both were able to vote.
It's not about whether voting by mail can be done correctly, it's the loss of the chain of custody of the ballots that leaves it so open to fraud. That doesn't mean that everyone who votes by mail is trying to pull one over.
