How can they make an egg come out of the chicken "with 25% less fat"?

I will assume they aren't cracking the shell, then sucking out some of the yolk, so what's the deal?

25% smaller eggs? Or maybe diet for the birds. Dunno.

I have always said, "you are what your food eats." Egglands Best feeds their chickens different things than your factory farm egg (flaxseed from your example).

The best eggs are the ones that come from pastured chickens since they eat bugs - the eggs actually have a higher protein content.. Go to the Burger Center on saturday morning and pick up some eggs from the farmer's market to taste and see the difference. I personally like the mushroom guy's eggs (Louis Young).

    What scottsins said.

Although it can apply to pretty much anything labeled "organic" in the grocery store as well.

The term "organic" actually has standards set by the federal and state governments.

I'll stick to the eggs I get off of our own chickens... (we have an almost zero fly issue with the horses).

Oh, & that should have been "25% less CHOLESTEROL."

Hiya Rox, the hens are fed a vegetarian diet and given extra vitamin e and canola oil. They have less fat and a few less calories. I prefer Egglands brand(as I don't have the luxury of owning my own chickens...) just due to the fact they don't add antibiotics or hormones to the chickens or the feed. The eggs tend to stay stay fresher longer too.

My friend had a rooster and 2 chickens in his room back in high school (don't ask). We would always eat fresh eggs and they were delicious, although they look really weird.

Yard eggs are the one thing that I think is worse than their commercially grown counterpart. I can't stand their thick yolk and when you scramble them they're gooey like melted cheese except not tasty. I'll take fruits and vegetables from someone's garden over the supermarket any day of the week, but when it comes to eggs pass me the sytrofoam container.
