During Campbell's Heisman senior season one of the tv stations in Austin(at least I think it was) did a video of his highlights to Carly Simon's Bond song "Nobody does It Better." They ran it a lot during the last part of the season (my brother was attending at the time) but I only saw it a couple of times when attending games. Haven't been able to find it since(haven't really done a deep search), but it was a great video.

In the first segment he was running from the fullback position. Kinda of unexpected to see him break off big runs with two backs behind him and pretty much out of the play except
    As decoys.

Yup, I was there that day. Steve Hall TE from Broken Arrow OK threw the key block so Big Earl could sprint to the End Zone! :hookem:

    Worster,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the player he laid out the DB from Galveston Ball that had "transcript issues"?

I remember after the game, the kid was face down in the middle of the Cotton Bowl and laid there through The Eyes of Texas.

He has paid an incredibly high price physically for that career.

I was sitting on the 40 and when Earl took that handoff and jumped over that guy I I knew there was no one over there and started my celebration a few seconds early....it was THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE....(until Vince ran it in)

The amount of punishment he took (and delivered) on every single play is completely unmatched by any other back in the history of college/NFL. Guys like Csonka and Jim Brown knew HOW to do what Earl did, but avoided it because of bodily concern. Earl gave everything. I love him for that, but feel like we almost owe him an apology for the beating he took.
