Fricking douche (Jamail) believes Trump supports white supremacy.

"I was just thinking, how did we fall so low, to have a leaderless country, to have a president who supports white supremacists, this great-people-on-both-sides horses---? Truthfully, I don't give a flying f--- if you quote me. It's sickening. It's embarrassing that people try to justify it.“

Maybe it’s because the president didn’t say it. Learn how to read a transcript instead of relying on your confirmation bias. Trump also said that the protesters wouldn’t stop at Robert E Lee and will tear down Washington next.

Mac, don’t confuse this genius — and a few on this board — with the facts.
Trump is a racist. He is. He is. He is.

    Ears covered: LaLaLaLaLaLaLaLaLaLaLa

    Then there’s this:

Bari Weiss quits New York Times after bullying by colleagues over views: 'They have called me a Nazi and a racist'

Bari Weiss quits New York Times after bullying by colleagues over views: 'They have called me a Nazi and a racist'

I was always taught that journalists were charged with writing the first rough draft of history,” she wrote. “Now, history itself is one more ephemeral thing molded to fit the needs of a predetermined narrative.”

Enlightenment is everywhere. One just has to be receptive.

Dion must change "On the Field" and call it "Earl Campbell Ricky Williams on the Julius Whittier West Mall Field" or I'm not complaining for sponsorships anymore.

I agree! The injustice of the current forum names will not stand! I have it on good authority that the origin of On The Field involves Mackovic supporters! @Dionysus we demand an environment where we feel the forum names respect us!

So is the new Ricky Williams field going back to grass instead of field turf?

Wonder what Frank Erwin and the rest of the power Brokers of those days would have done.

I know exactly what Frank Erwin would have done because I was directly involved with a potential major embarrassment to The University.

Frank grabbed the bull by the horns, issued orders, and although it took several days, things got fixed. One professor and department chair in particular bucked Frank and was told, “fix it or tell me if you want your final check delivered or you want to come to my office and pick it up”.

With Frank Erwin it was what was best for the school, not a few malcontent puppets.

Did the nitwit Jamail son who ranted just now discover that the field was named after his dad? I mean, this genius didn't realize how oppressed and mistreated the players were until said players mentioned it? He didn't know his dad must have contributed to that with his donations through the years leading to the oppression?

Yes. I remember those days. No question who was in control and who ran the show. And for those of you who don’t know, Frank was a big time Democrat. The Democratic Party that was replaced by what is going on today.

I heard from a credible source that Dion used to own sauces and keep them locked in back of a dark cold pantry.

He'll deny it, I'm sure, but its time for a cultural change! Red Sauce Matters!

Not surprised but still disappointed. Caden and Collin were my favs for the past seasons and I even respect the leadership Caden has demonstrated but I want to see it on the field. I’m really sorry that something that means so much positivity to so many is being portrayed negatively by one I have favored in the past. Darn.

And I wonder, as I mentioned before, does the not singing mean he will leave or will he stand there with horns up and be silent? I hope that is the case and he doesn’t make a scene of leaving.

I beleive that any of the head coaches in my lifetime, DKR, Fred, David, John Mac, MB or even Strong could have. and would have, issued the following edict to the players:

"You WILL stay on the field during the "Eyes of Texas" and you WILL have your Horns held high. The decision as to whether to sing the "Eyes" or not is yours, although I personally hope that you do. My greatest fear is that one day you will look back and regret the decision not to. But to be clear, you WILL not do anything to embarass me, your team mates, this program or this institution. This is not something that you want to test me on, unless you wish to watch the remainder of the seaon from the student section at DKR. If you feel strongly about not singing the "Eyes", your team mates and I will support you. But we expect the same support in return, by you staying on the field with your Horns held high. Now, let's go out and have a great practice".

I'm having a hard time picturing Mensa Tom throwing this down. Again, I want to be wrong. You know suddenly Mack's legendary stubborness doesn't seem like such a bad thing.

If there's football played, I don't think Sterns/Overshown/& Co realize the backlash they'll receive if they follow thru and underperform on the field (intentionally or otherwise)....I believe the term "Whitelash" was used when Trump was elected. I'll not be attending any games but will watch to see the circus....

Does this moron knows minstrel shows were the main form of American musical entertainment in the 1800’s? Going to erase the entirety of American musical history for a 100-150 year period? Further, please explain how minstrel music is more degrading than some of today’s rap music?

By the way the so-called “history” of the Eyes is a bunch of hooey. Reads like a deranged SJW article on transgender hormones.

The sign of derangement and brainwashing is selective outrage that meets one’s agenda while ignoring all other outrageous behavior. It doesn’t necessarily mean their issue is without merit, etc. It just means they are morons who are tools for other people.

He can go to hell. I would never trust him and the other dissenters with a game on the line.

I never thought I would see this day. From walking over from the East side to the knothole section to watch Price’s losing teams, playing pick-up tackle games and doing summer conditioning at the stadium in later years, watching the rise of football under Royal and on to graduation from The University, I have seen the bad, the good, and now the ugly. I have a choice to make. Swallow hard or bail. If this goes the way it appears to be going with the likes of these types players, who are supported by the school and students, I am bailing. It will be hard. I have a family of fans including the brainwashing of my children and their children as well. There is a ton of Longhorn crap in every closet and my Son and I love to talk Longhorn football. But I will quietly go away.

I don’t need this bullsh - - t cluttering up what is left of my brain.

    Chinstrap,

There are thousands of fans echoing your sentiments. I agree that it's time for a change:

    1) Change to a coach that values the program and its traditions, and places the program ahead of the "druthers" of a few malcontent puppets

    2) Change of address for some players because life is too short for them to be unhappy and for us to have to put up with watching them try to convince us that they aren't puppets.

I agree. Fire Herman and have Sterns, Eagles, Overshown et al hit the portal. I wish them all the best at their new more SJW schools. If they feel so strongly about The Eyes, show some balls and go elsewhere. GTFO.

I had hoped this was over. How naive of me. Most of what was negotiated the other day has already been squandered.

We should have seen this coming. Sterns’ hero is Kapernick. No kidding. He said so in a video I saw a number of months ago.

If we had HC with any stones and any perspective, he would address this display of disunity and disrespect and either fix it — and have Sterns tweet that he has reconsidered — or pull his scholarship and cut him free immediately. And if any other players balk, I would cut them loose, all of them. Cancers must be removed, quickly.

This is so much bigger than a few misguided misfits. And it’s so much bigger than a self-absorbed, underperforming and grossly overpaid coach.

As others have expressed, the University should replace Herman as quickly as they can. In fact, I’m hoping that some of the BMDs have already banded together and provided that ultimatum. If I was one of them I would.

Disgusting. The kid thinks he’s bigger than the program. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
