What will both their fans do? If you have never been around UConn fans, they make Ohio State fans look like a ladies' lunch group at Dallas Country Club. Those people can & do put more hyphens in a word than you can imagine.
The 2 things that come to mind when I think of Connecticut are Lyme disease and Ladies bball. Both of which are hard to endure. I will say it's easy to cancel a 2-10 football program that is swirling the drain.
Only team to make one of the major five bowls (Sugar, Cotton, Orange, Rose, Fiesta) and LOSE $3+ million for their effort. I rarely consider the Fiesta a major bowl, but I do give them credit for helping us get rid of Donnie Duncan.
I remember a few (?) years back when the Horns went to UConn their fans were pretty nasty, talking **** to the team outside the facility.
I volunteered for the Women's Final Four when it was here in Dallas. UConn was of course one of the teams. I was a Greeter so I was their first contact. Rude and obnoxious. Many of them asked me if I knew at what hotel Miss State stayed . MSU was their first opponent. The UConn fans were so sure they would win they wanted to go to the MSU hotel and buy the final game tix since they knew the MSU fans would be going home. Boy did I love it when MSU beat them. South Carolina and MSU fans were the only people who thanked me for volunteering.
While I agree the Fiesta Bowl shouldn't count as a major, you might as well add the Peach Bowl to your list since it's part of the six site rotations now.
I think Mike took another gig, Coorper retired, which leaves Walleye open to raid the HS rejects in California to fill all positions with total incompetents. Please don't contact Bowelsby because he has been practicing in front of a mirror all summer - "I trust Greg's choices and support them 100%" Both need to be fired before the season starts.
OH NO! What does that mean? Wait a minute, have I ever seen a MAC game? I can't name two teams in the MAC, unless the multiple Michigan directional schools are members. Seriously, the MAC folded when the ACC & BigTen decided to play only conference games. Those conferences are their financial bread & butter.
By Oct 1, these morons are going to look foolish. But, if you are losing money because the big OOC money games of Sept are cancelled, then they don’t have a choice. The Power 5 may have learned a valuable lesson. If they only schedule OOC games with themselves (say 2 games for a 11 game season), they may de facto create separation between them and the little conferences, both literally and financially.
Domino effects......The Big 10 could be pompous enough to ignore the money. If the Big 10 caves then , whoever wins a natty would be astericked. Then if one more caves it is over.
Just checked the latest state data. Cases have peaked in the Midwest. If they can hold out for 2 more weeks, they would clearly see a downward trend in cases.
