Colt seems to continue to do well, as implied by this question today by Ed Valentine, one of the beat writers on a Giants' website: "If the Giants keep a third quarterback, will it be Cooper Rush or Alex Tanney?"
From the New York Post after yesterday's scrimmage: "Stock Up . . . QB Colt McCoy: If you expected a three-way race to be Daniel Jones’ backup, forget it. The job belongs to McCoy, who was 12-for-18 passing. His experience reading coverages in different systems is a bonus. . . . Stock Down . . . QB Daniel Jones: No need for alarm bells. He was 8-for-11 for 88 yards under constant duress, including a strip fumble on one of five sacks. There haven’t been many dazzling days from Jones in camp. In fairness, Eli Manning had few, too."

Going from little Danny to Wellington Mara's family has no analogy in real world - maybe prison to winning the lottery. FWIW. Wellington Mara's nephew graduated from The University of Texas and is a class act.
"The New York Giants released reserve quarterbacks Cooper Rush and Alex Tanney on Saturday." . . . "The fact that the Giants cut BOTH Cooper Rush and Alex Tanney and will go with two quarterbacks, Daniel Jones and Colt McCoy. One of Rush or Tanney figures to land on the practice squad." I saw somebody else on the list of possible practice squad candidates who seemed like a fairly veteran player to me. I'm wondering if, perhaps, there are special practice squad rules in place because of the pandemic.

ViperHorn, I found an article that explains the special practice squad rules for 2020: 2020 NFL practice squad rules: Everything you need to know
It actually started in that aggy game when they started calling him "Cart" McCoy when he was carted off the field.
Colt was hurt that year in the KSU game. Memory tells me that on a 3rd or 4th and goal, Texas ran a QB sneak, and Colt was hit in the helmet by a KSU lineman. I believe he was out the rest of that game, and J Snead came in a played well, in a high scoring loss. Colt then tried to play in the ATM game but was injured again and had to be carried off. Not particular sure why an injured player, who made a brave attempt to play but had to come out, warranted being made fun of, but then it's the Ags we are talking about. Maybe they were mad about all those whisky bottles they always claimed were thrown at them, or maybe they saw someone "act classless".
Thanks, Stan. $8,400/week isn't bad for someone with no or little pro experience. I hope those veterans can live on $12,000 a week.
