Bogus interference call to bail Oklahoma State out on 3rd down and keep them from having to punt.

Okie State had a good drive going but threw a pic. Late 3rd same score as above. OSU is #11?? They sure don't look like it.

Tuned in late and impressed with how Tulsa has held OSU in check. Announcers said Tulsa has 6 sacks in the game so far :yikes: Cowboys finally had some momentum and turned it over.

Even with the backup QB in, 3 points is ridiculous. Oklahoma State arguably has the most talented RB and WR in the Big 12. Third string QB comes in and throws an atrocious pass but Wallace comes down with it because he adjusted better.

Last week I said the the conference was top heavy with Texas, OU, and OSU far above the rest. Looks like I included one team too many.

Yeah, OSU looks weak, although about to score

Oklahoma State got away with serious defensive holding there to force the FG.

OSU looking weak as Tulsa is even weaker.

Yeah, it's not like Tulsa is making some heroic effort at an upset bid. They are thoroughly sucking.

Sad part is, Tulsa shot themselves with too many penalties at critical times.

4th & 24 and Tulsa QB takes a sack at his own 2 yard line.

I am happy that OSU won.
We need our conference opponents to beat out of conference opponents.:bevo:

OSU will be better than this...but as posted previously on other threads....I view them as way overhyped/overrated.
Sanders unproven and skill at WR and RB irrelevant if you do not have strong oline play...and that is saying nothing even of what I expect to be a suspect dline and possibly secondary.
They will end 3rd or 4th in conference is my guess.
But again...I wouldn't read too much week 1 this crazy year...

Tis’ true. I only root against Oklahoma State one game out of the year. Big fan of Mike Gundy and what he has done there. He really should have more wins against Oklahoma though.

I was one of the only ones on here who thought him standing up for his player years ago was a cool thing

OSU OL looked more than a little suspect. I remember last year in Texas' 3 down DL they were pushing OSU OL all over the field.

At this point, I am surprised he has a team who will suit up for him. Probably just doing it just for the NFL scouts at this point.

Wasn’t it the OSU game where we muffed 2 punts? Should have been a 21 point victory

It was just the goofy *** way he ranted about it. It was good he stood up for the player in question. Now, he bends over and does whatever they say.

Reminds me of 1997 when James Brown was hurt and everyone in the world knew that Ricky was getting the ball. Put 9 in the box and just gap rush every down. Poor Chuba will still get his accolades, but they're going to have several games like this one if they can't solve their other issues.

Cool thing, maybe. But everything Carlson wrote about Bobby Reid was 100% true, and Reid was 22 by that point. I don't mind that Gundy was upset about it, but the public dismantling of her integrity was a little far for something that everyone with a couple functioning brain cells could tell was reliable and fair. There are no Longhorns reporters with balls who write negative things about the program, but if someone had done that about Ramonce Taylor in 2005 or all of those knucklehead North Mesquite kids from 1997-2005, and Mack berated them in front of all the other press, that doesn't make me like Mack more for stifling the "bad" stuff.

The point was that you don’t go after good kids. Gundy thought it was akin to bullying. Some parts of the article went too far.

She was totally out of line; even her boss said so publicly.

Always thought she was a female craving a sideline reporter job, but networks didn't have a wide angle lens big enough to get her on camera.

She clearly can't understand normal thinking

And Bobby Reid's own mother said that even though she didn't like the spirit of the original article, that Gundy's lashing out was staged and the article's criticisms of the staff were grounded in truth.

Friend: Reid has different take on Gundy's infamous rant

Bobby Reid was no "kid," as Gundy kept referring to him, and the criticisms that Carlson levied in the article came directly from staffers. It's why he was benched for Zac Robinson, and Gundy was pissed that a reporter had the gall to talk about it. The whole "mom fed him chicken" thing was inappropriate for the article, but the rest of it was factual and the OK State staff was either complicit in the reasons for Reid's benching, or they had more leaks than they knew how to handle.

She's still writing, so I don't think she had any camera aspirations. Calling her fat is a nice touch, though.

Not sure and don't care about her weight, but from that article in ESPN, the reporter is a dirty liar who made things up.

    From the ESPN article:

"that morning, a columnist from the Oklahoman, Jenni Carlson, wrote that Reid was benched for being soft, for not playing through injuries, for being coddled by his mom. And, to prove her point, Carlson wrote Rajika had fed her son chicken after the Troy game.

In a lot of ways, it was a cheap shot -- because Rajika had fed no one but herself and because Carlson hadn't even been at the Troy game.

Generally, when you say things that are not true, that's a lie, something that most reporters are quite familiar with, as they do that all the time.

It's not "inappropriate", it's a dirty lie, that was created to embellish an otherwise pretty boring story about why an often injured player wasn't playing. ZZZZ. But a player who's so soft that his mommy feeds him fried chicken, now that's a story!

What Gundy didn't like, understandably, was a newspaper article that made personal insults against the toughness of one of his players, with a straight up lie to embellish it. Good for him for standing up for his player.

OK State had zero players who were drafted into the NFL in the 2020 draft. It's hardly a football factory.

Even being generous and just assuming 2 would be drafted this year, why are they other 83 guys playing? Bored on a Saturday and want to get out of the house? Like fresh air, or exciting trips to the Little Apple?

I get that you don't like Gundy, probably because of his politics. He probably wouldn't like yours either. But there is zero evidence that he's having any problems fielding a team, having them suit up, or playing hard for him.

The article read like a political hit piece. While that may be acceptable in politics, it doesn’t belong in college football.
