Indications on OB is that perhaps he left the field without acknowledging The Eyes of Texas.

If true, that should end the Herman regime...

CDC has bungled this and Herman needs to go.

If he doesn't then he should not have a job in the morning. He is a ****** coach anyway. No loss.

My position is that if Herman left the field and did not stay for The Eyes, CDC should suspend him for one game, next week. A message needs to be sent.

If the result of a suspension is a revolt by the players, so be it. And if there are not enough players to play the game, I’m OK with a forfeit.

This could be a blood bath, but a blood bath now would be better than allowing this insubordinate behavior to continue.

I hear Elliot didn't stand for the Eyes after the KU volleyball match. All these coaches should be suspended or fired with cause. I hear he ignored The Eyes just like his players did.

I'm calling CDC tomorrow morning to enquire about this, and Elliot's supposedly not standing for The Eyes. If you don't have his number look it up or email him.

It is poor. It's a time honored school tradition, and supposedly the knock on it is that someone claimed that someone said that they heard that somebody read on the internet that the school song was played in what would be an offensive song and dance show if played now, all this happening during the T. Roosevelt administration.

Singing the Eyes of Texas with the fans has been a tradition embraced and enjoyed by coaches and players far better than the current crop. And when He-Man has been fired, and the current players leave / transfer / blow their knee out / hope to make the practice squad on a CFL team, hopefully the next group will be proud of this school and it's history.

Till then, it's up to us fans to carry on the traditions, as the coaches and players won't.

Moon, I’m surprised that you thought my comment above was funny.

Tom Herman is an employee of the University of Texas. He is not empowered to selectively accept which traditions he chooses to honor. Herman is not employed by Brennan Eagles, Caden Sterns or Josh Thomson. If Herman does not respect the traditions of his employer, he should be reprimanded.

I did not see the volleyball coach, but I did see the volleyball players huddle in a circle and hide their faces during the Eyes. Cheerleaders and Pom sang, although I saw a couple of black members sit it out.

We need to nip this in the bud now. If you don't want to perform the Eyes and you are a student athlete, band, manager / trainer / towel girl / headset cord guy or part of Pom / Cheerleaders, you need to be removed from these groups and if you are on scholarship, it needs to be pulled. If you are on the school payroll in the athletics or communications, etc. and you don't want to give your attention to the Eyes, you need to be shown the door.

This is the perfect throw away season for all sports to enforce this. Besides, I think you only need to make a few examples and the problem will be solved.

After the Iowa State - OU game, the whole stadium sang along with Neil Diamond to Sweet Caroline. Apparently, Neil's blackface scenes in the movie The Jazz Singer don't bother them, or their woke leaders just haven't seen that movie yet, and haven't deemed Neil's catalog as racist... Yet.

This whole thing is odd to me. Seems like since arriving CDC has done everything he can to improve the game day experience and enhance the traditions that run deep at Texas. On the other hand it feels like Herman has done nothing but drive a wedge between fans, the university and players. Those two need to get on the same page stat!

That will never happen. Chris is a class act, who understands the business aspect of university athletics. Herman is an *** clown with zero understanding of anything but ego and entitlement.

We are scheduled to lose $165 million this year, and Chris runs the risk of many if not most donors holding out until Herman is gone. I told him in a one on one conversation that we could lose $185 million because of mensa boy. It is now worse than that.

    TCU is mediocre
OU is worst Sooner team since Blake. Rattler is not the real deal.
ISU is a pretender in a pretender's league
    KSU is above average
oSu is typical Gundy, better than average, but short of rising to the occasion.

This was Mensa's year to shine, and all he can do is play ******** politics with his players.

As a side note, please name ONE player that has improved under Herman's staff. Can they coach?

I share your perception of CDC and don’t question the numbers. If indeed Herman dissed The Eyes, CDC has his pretense to take action. However, to do so in this environment will take tremendous courage as he would be severely criticized by the usual suspects, starting with ESPN.

“What Starts Here Changes The World.”

CDC has a unique opportunity to make a bold statement. What happens on the field for the rest of 2020 is irrelevant in the big picture.

Nash I agree with you. Sam threw interceptions in critical moments of the OSU and TTU games that led to loses in both games his freshman year. He would not do that now.

If Herman didn't stay for the 'EYES of TEXAS', it's because certain Longhorns won't play for him if he does.

Oh wait. They're not playing for him now!

Football is a sport. Volleyball is a sport. Basketball is a sport (don’t know yet if players will refuse to stand for the National Anthem or The Eyes). Sports at the University of Texas are revered. CDC and President Hartzell allowed some disgruntled football players turn all UT sports political. Every song Nile player except walk-ons were quite willing to sing The Eyes until they were convinced they should be angry about it. And Herman and some of the players insulted the fans. Politics should not be allowed to destroy UT Athletics. This was, imho, a huge mistake that could cost the University millions of dollars, support from alumni, and I’ll will. We should have let all the athletes enter the portal. We might have had a bad few years, but this year for sure looks ******. And what might be the next demand athletes make? Will they be able to dictate policy? If Hartzell, CDC and heaven forbid Herman are still there, yes they will. I am disgusted.
5 brave players, notably Sam, stayed and 2, Sam and one other, put their horns up. I will probably watch the games primarily for Sam. I couldn’t care less about the rest of them. Good riddance when they leave sooner rather than later.

Maybe CDC is part of the problem. TCU is a different animal than Texas.
