When was the last time Texas had as many weapons as we have right now? Ingram, Johnson and Robinson at Running back Whittington, Jake Smith, Eagles, and Epps at WR, Not even counting Washington, Moore and Lewis who are all very capable. We have a lot of guys that can take it to the house on any given play. Not to mention the best QB we have had since McCoy pulling the trigger. This offense is going to be a lot of fun to watch.
^^Yep, due to the muscle/tendon pulls&strains rather than contact or collision injuries, attention to improving flexibility may help. Also extra stretching/yoga time everyday might help. Wishing him a full and speedy recovery.
Shipley had the same problem early on, not sure how he fixed it, but his last 2 seasons were pretty impressive.
Source: Whittington will be out for 'some time' with injury "Texas redshirt freshman receiver Jordan Whittington, who led the Longhorns with 10 receptions in a four-overtime loss to Oklahoma, will be out for "some time" with an abdominal, soft-tissue injury, a source close to the situation told Horns247"
You gotta feel for this kid, the whole situation reminds me of Jordan Shipley his first couple of years at Texas. Hopefully Whittington's career follows a similar path and gets to a place where he can stay on field the way Shipley did.
My personal non-doctor, non-nurse, non-trainer opinion: let him rest much longer than the normal recovery time. I think he was rushed back in more than once. Let him heal fully.
Whittington should just go ahead and retire from football and start a personal training service with Kirk Johnson.
Abdominal soft tissue? Is that related to the hernia from earlier? Sounds similar to me but I don't know much about that.
