Interesting there was no ‘Texas’ on the front of those jerseys. I guess no names either?

I like it. I've always advocated for the stormtrooper unis at home. We can wear orange every other year against OU or in the bowl game or CCG.

They look great. Wondering how the material will move, stretch or otherwise react, when our players strut and strike Superman poses after making a tackle after a 20 yard gain. This stuff matters.

Is it still a rule that we can only make a tackle after three other players have whiffed on the ball carrier?

I believe so. I had heard that TH was lobbying for four, but CDC and the BMDs pushed back.

The best tackles are from the DB’s when they come running up from behind, having either lined up wrong, or been faked out of their shoes by the WR.

Then, after the blind side tackle 20 yards down the field, the Flex. If there is a signature move for this defense it’s the Flex. Hopefully it transfers over to the offense as well. RB’s can Flex after a 1 yard run, or even better after a fumble. The OL can Flex after being beaten and giving up a sack or holding call. Or both on one play!

And now the original link is broken, like most of the plays I've seen this year. :lmao:

So, I'm in a very, very pessimistic frame of mind this evening.

So, being the Devil's advocate this fine fall evening...... will this action result in improved focus, execution and over all better play on Sat?

    If so I'm for it.

    Riddle me that it will....

They whiffed on it, just like tackling the guy with the ball.

The only reason would be that Baylor isn’t as good as TCU or OU, so Texas would look less inept in comparison.

Man thing will be in their QB can run with the ball and rack up huge first downs at the worst possible time, like TCU’s did. I see little reason to think otherwise.

I am reasonably sure the 1970 jerseys did NOT have the Nike logo on the front. Maybe if they put the players in Riddell XP shoes it would be a little more believable.

OK, for a moment I thought it meant everyone was going to a huge "404" on their uniform.

Were these home or away jersey’s back in the past?

And when did mostly white tops become standard for visiting teams? Is that something that goes way back or last 40 years?

That tradition has been around at least as long as I have (more than 40 years). Although the Dallas Cowboys are a notable exception to that tradition.

Been watching for 55 years and that's standard procedure. Plus many years ago the NCAA mandated teams wear dark jerseys at home. LSU has to have the visiting team agree for them to wear white at home.

XP for the line and Riddle XL cleats for the skill players... very light weight and cool looking shoe back in the day.

I wore Spot Built light kangaroo skin cleats Soph. and Jr. Years. Sr. Year switched to Riddle XL's even tho I was starting Center. That XL cleat was light as a feather!

Buckle your seatbelts, boys and girls, this will shock you. At one time TV was only black & white, so the home team was dark and visiting team white. Then in 1960, three rebellious men named Murchison, Schramm, & Brandt watched LSU win a NC wearing white jerseys at home and decided to fight the status quo and rules, and have their team in Dallas wear white at home.

Yes, TV was only black & white until the early 60s when RCA introduced the first "color TV".

Guess what else, boys and girls, none of this **** was made in Japan.

Your choices were RCA, Motorola or Curtis Mathis. They even gave you a loop antenna for the UHF channels (14 - 83).

    Worster,

Some company gave us 100 pair of kangaroo shoes. Very lite, soft, and comfortable, BUT when we cut, the seam on the back cup split open, after going through about15 pairs in 3-4 days, we switched back to Riddell and all those kangaroo shoes went to the junior highs. I did have one pair of Riddel XPs that warped the sole when I cut, Loved the white arch support.

You may not be old enough to remember, but SpotBilt featured Pistol Pete Pedro in hteir adsd as the leading rusher in all college football out at West Texas State. He set the standard for the RBs from Greenville who followed him - Duane Thomas & Mercury Morris

And Zenith. Our first TV back in the 1950s was a Zenith B&W with a remote control for changing the channels. (There was a servo motor that turned the dial. And as the TV set got old (like more than 10 years old), sometimes that servo would start but wouldn't stop, so that damn thing would continuously cycle through all of the channels (static-static-NBC-static-static-ABC-static-static-CBS-static-static-static-REPEAT). Our first color TV (in 1968) was a Magnavox console.
