After seeing all the ticky-tack targeting calls on Texas defenders and other teams since they implemented it, I was totally pissed that the refs didn't flag or even look at Baylor's #42 for targeting. As Sam was going down this guy flies in with the top of his helmet straight into the side of Sam's head with forceable contact as he is going down. If you have the game DVRed fast forward to that point. I hope Herman sends that in to the Big 12 office....Total bull**** that wasn't called, and #42 not ejected....As I said it was about the 7:45 mark of the 2nd qtr. Check it out.

I saw that hit and thought the same thing. There was another hit by a Baylor player that also should have been called and wasn't. I don't remember the player or play or time.

Same here, I immediately yelled out.
Absolute targeting against a down QB. Big miss by the refs.

As someone who has said the targeting rule needs to be changed (and posted a thread on it a few weeks ago), I thought that hit was an obvious foul, particularly in light of the awful on field targeting call made against (I think) Jamison. How can you square those calls? More stunning, was that the normally hair trigger instant replay did not buzz down, but perhaps less replay is good thing. Maybe Sam is getting the Cam Newton treatment: He’s so hard to bring down refs are going to let opposing players tee off on him.

You want Herman to complain to Walleye in Las Colinas or the PAC 12 office? Those were PAC officials. That did, however, allow us to get rid of Smith, who was doing his usual incompetent job in the BigTen. Hoping he doesn't come back.

I was wondering who those officials were. Overall I thought they were better than our usual.

I don't know Mer, but a friend at UCLA told me he is an engineer and has worked for Apple. I have no idea if this is correct, but I do know he is a PAC referee
