How many season ticket holders are going to attend games this year?

We said yes and will go to the big games. May not go to the minor ones. UT athletics was vague on seat assignment. No need to be so vague. Tell us where you are assigning us and we can decide whether we want to renew.

This is the way it was handled for football tickets, which if you keep in mind was somewhere in the 20K seat range in terms of season tickets:
    1. Email poll to see if you still wanted to go - same done with WBB
    2. Warnings in the email that you may not get your original seats, but that was just this year and doesn't affect next year - same done with WBB
    3. Email telling you the date or range of dates they will contact you to go over your season tickets
    4. Phone call where they ask you once again if you wanted season tickets
    5. Then they read off the section and seats you are going to get. You have a few moments to scramble with a map of the football stadium and see where this season's tickets are going to be
    6. They give you a few seconds on the phone to say "YES" or "NO"
    7. If YES, they ask you again are you okay with those tickets
    8. They thank you and go off to the next person on the list

The reason it is so slow and manual is that if you say "NO", then the tickets you pass up become the next best tickets for the next person they call on the phone.

HOWEVER, for season tickets for volleyball, there was no (3) - (8). We just got an email telling us where are seats were. The reason they could do this is that our season tickets are in Gregory and they're playing in the Erwin Center. There is no 1-to-1 mapping of old vs temp tickets, so so need to call and see how mad we are with our seat assignments.

I said yes to my season tickets, knowing that I might not be very happy with the seat location this year.

One more thing. This is for volleyball, but I'm pretty sure they'll keep most of it for basketball. In the Erwin Center, they've taken super long zip ties, tied them end-to-end to make them longer, and then "wrapped" the seats so no one can sit there. With the much reduced capacity for volleyball (last game against Tech was 1497), it's easy to make sure people don't try to inch up or sit together in seats they weren't assigned (but people still do inch up and take unoccupied seats) to maintain social distancing.

Obviously, if they make a mistake and band up a seat that's meant to be sat in, they just snip the zip ties and suddenly the seats open up. But because these seats are going to be for both Men and Women BB ticket holders, I'm sure there is going to be more complex social distancing seat reservations.

This. I don't know if the season will be as enjoyable with less desirable seats, but I just have to experience a Vic Schaefer coached team.
