4th and 4 at the 35, and OU finds Wease wide open for a touchdown. This drive started inside their own 1. Game is back to a blowout. This isn't about a talent disparity.

A lot of pressure on little Tommy going into Jack Trice Stadium next Friday. ISU is well coached, playing well and will be very fired up to play UT.

I think the game is in Austin, isn’t it? Thought it was on the road last year.

No, it’s 50% more. 20/13 = 1.5 (approx). In 100 games, one wins 20 games and the other 13 games. So, 50% more wins or 7 more wins out of 100 games. Both are true.

I hate to admit it but OU's offensive scheme is beautiful to watch. Very clever formations that get exactly the look they want for a particular play. I rarely, if ever, see our offense do that. I hate them as much as the next guy, but their offense is light years ahead of ours. Granted, I don't watch them nearly as closely as I watch us, and they've obviously had some stumbles. But last night they were clicking against what is supposedly a very good defense.
Then again, it's the Big XII. Or should I say OU and the eight wannabes. Meh.

Lincoln Riley's teams actually get better as the season progresses, Something you cannot say about Herman's.

Sorry, not sure why I thought ISU was on the road.... Horns will have a bit of an edge playing at home and should be rested.

Should be rested, healthy and ready to play.
Three weeks to design a game plan?
Should look as good as any bowl game.
We'll see how bad they want it.

Based on yesterday, next Friday could get really ugly really quick. Texas was a couple of bad calls and lucky breaks away from getting blown out in Ames last year, Iowa State is getting better and Texas is getting worse, hard to see a way the horns hang with the cyclones, and that is how far Texas has fallen under tommy terrific.

The long term health and success of Texas football really requires Texas to lose next weekend and have TH run out of Austin sooner than later. If he wins out, people will forgive his ills, and he'll stay. Eventually, he'll be canned because he sucks, but it will be 10-15 years of mediocrity again until the next DKR/Mack Brown comes along.

I'll be brand as a terrible fan, but so be it. Texas needs to lose to ISU for the program to thrive.

Nope. It looks like blow u has rightened their ship. We had our chance earlier in the year when " they had their worse team in years" .

Or you could say Iowa State was a lucky break away from blowing the lead and losing.

Yeah, Texas could have easily won that game, except for the foolishness of jumping offsides on the game losing missed FG. ISU got closer and then kicked it again and made it. Terrible loss.

Should be a good game. ISU can score points, and while Texas could earlier in the season, the past few games have had poor accuracy from Sam. Maybe he's healed up by now and will throw better.

Season defining game here, again. Win it, and take care of taking out the rubbish against the Kansas teams, and it's into the B12 game. Lose it, and have to hope others lose to let Texas slip in. Otherwise some 3rd tier bowl before a few thousand fans, on 26 Dec or such.

If Herman gets canned sometime this year or after the season, (which I hope cause I don't like mediocrity and losing the majority of good recruits) I hope we retain Ash cause his defense is looking pretty good. I'm on the fence about Yurcich, I would like to see some more creative formations and play calling that I see other teams doing. I would like it if we inject some plays that other teams do that are effective even if it gets away from our offensive philosophy. That would catch teams by surprise. Just sayin.
Of course if we lose Herman and can't get Meyer that would be a big bummer cause I think Meyer is our quickest way back to championship quality.
On a side note, Oklahoma recruiting is looking scary good. I see them being as good as Alabama and Clemson in the coming seasons.
I think Meyer is our only hope of competing with OK and that will take at least 3 years.
Oklahoma has been the lead horse in the big 12 for a while and now they are threatening to get a larger lead.

Texas needs to play OU - it'll be clarifying for the program.

Win against OU - B12 title, bested them for the year, things are good.

Lose for the second time, fire the coach, start again, as the current path isn't working.

    I don't agree.
The defense has progressed and is better now than 3 games ago.
Now, the offense has stalled over that period a bit.
But I think a rested and healthy Sam can change that.
And I definitely want to see the dirt burglars again in the CCG.

This year's offense is looking a lot like last season, so I think Herman is doing a lot of play overriding.

Any time I am pooped by a poster on Ignore, I know I'm pretty much on the right track.

Interesting feature of the forum that you can still see that and sometimes when someone on Ignore posts something. But, you can't see the actual post unless you hit "Show Ignored Content".

Wasn't able to watch Bedlam but I was both surprised and not surprised by the score. Gundy's high water mark was about 10 years ago and I don't anticipate his program having a one or two loss season again any time soon, if ever. Oklahoma is in his head worse far worse than Mack, actually for Mack it's FSU. How the hell did he lose to them this year? :lmao:Even Gundy hasn't gone 0-10 against the Sooners.

Sucks if you're an OSU fan because you've got the winningest coach you've ever had but you're only going to beat your in-state rival about once a decade (even though you should have a few more W's) probably never win the Big 12 again and if you get rid of Gundy...well, ask Texas Tech how running off Leach worked out for them.

We aren't bent over a barrel as badly as OSU is but our program is in the same kind of trouble. I don't believe Herman is the answer at all and even if we miraculously win the Big 12 I still want him gone. Herman is just as arrogant and snippy as late-stage Mack but without the skins on the wall and also like Mack, seems to have to be pushed into a corner before does his job... all the while whining. He's not a champion and he doesn't develop them either. I am deeply concerned that if we retain him this program will be set back by years and years. If the losses to TCU and OU weren't enough to do it, losing Ewers and these other recruits should be. There's no faith in Herman or this program. It's time to pull the plug no matter how it ends.

That seems likely as one of the reasons Ewers listed was that the offense wasn't what he was led to believe. Hermie's arrogance at work.

They've had the firepower to do more. We won 3 times this decade and it was our weakest decade since the 40s. Tech managed to win 4 times in 7 years at one point with equal or less talented rosters than what Okie State has usually had. KSU has 4 wins vs Oklahoma in the past decade despite probably weaker rosters than any of the rest of the teams I mentioned on average.

Riley has twice as many Bedlam wins in 4 years (4-0) as Gundy has in 16 years (2-14).
