Just a thought I had while watching Hill.
Seems like Sam could be used in the same way.
Maybe not quite as fleet of foot.
But he can certainly pass as well.
And be a bruising run threat.

As long as Jeff Fisher isn't his coach.

Sam reminds me more of Tim Tebow. Which means he gets some kind of opportunity in the NFL. But probably doesn't stick. Doesn't diminish his status as a great Longhorn. I'm gonna miss him.

Those BYU beat downs with Hill were brutal. Glad we didn't let BYU in the conference. They seem to have our number.

I'd guess that Sam will have to improve his passing skills to stick on any NFL roster, but then there's Jalen Hurts on the Eagles.

I believe Sam will play on an NFL roster. Probably as a back up for a number of seasons. May not last as long as Colt has due to his passing accuracy issues.

Sam does have a unique skill set as a QB. He could be a situational player. Goal line threat that can run or pass. Perhaps a backup too. He has good upside and wouldn't be an off field liability.

I recall wondering how Taysom Hill could demolish the Horn defense wearing that huge bulky knee brace. He pretty much answers that by his performance for the Saints nearly each time they play.

He's arguably more similar to Prescott than to Tebow or Hill.

I don't think Dak has as much mobility.

Maybe, but they are both about the same size and seem roughly equally effective as college runners. Maybe Dak seems less of a runner b/c we're now seeing him vs NFL defenders? Looking at their final 3 seasons and multiplying by 1.75 for Sam in 2020 to extrapolate to a full year gives us:

So. Dak: 829 rush yards, 6.2 ypc, 13 TD
Jr. Dak: 986 rush yards, 4.7 ypc, 14 TD
Sr. Dak: 588 rush yards, 3.7 ypc, 10 TD

So. Sam: 482 rush yards, 2.9 ypc, 16 TD
Jr. Sam: 663 rush yards, 4.1 ypc, 7 TD
Sr. Sam: 565 rush yards, 3.6 ypc, 12 TD
