Not to be lost in all the partisan sniping is the life of a Patriotic American who faced danger fearlessly and lost his life trying to build great relations with a country he loved on behalf of a country he loved. If you saw John McCain's remarks on Chris Stevens you know what a true hero sounds like describing another hero. McCain's advice was not to give into hatred and remove embassies from the Middle East, particularly Libya which has elected a moderate government, not an Islamist one. We should also not lose sight of the fact that Libyans lost their lives in unsuccessful defense of American's embassy in a country with widely dispersered arms and small but dangerous bands of fanatical Muslims from both outside and inside the country. It would be a tragedy to pull out and look cowardly after losing a hero who had worked so bravely there on our behalf.

Mitt Romney should fire whatever bozo told him to denounce the administration before the bodies were cold. I'll excuse the gaffe because I think he has a legitimate point about Obama projecting leadership. But the ham-handed timing of Romney's remarks did nothing for America's stature abroad and makes him an easy target for Democratic partisans who see him as an veneer-thin opportunist williing to say anything to get elected. It's a stark contrast to the actions of partisan Democrats, like Hillary Rodham Clinton on 09/11/2001 and 09/12/2001. The contrast is not helpful in making Romney look Presidential. Could we ever count on Romney to deliver the appropriate message with precisely the right mix of sorrow, courage, definance and sincereity that George W. Bush projected in the days after the World Trade Center bombing? Man I hope he can grow into it. I just don't see whatever is coming out of Romney's mouth in any way connecting to what I feel in my heart.

nice postI think you need to edit this sentence though:

"Could we ever count on Romney to be a sincere and heartfelt and George W. Bush in the days after the World Trade Center bombing?"

I am not positive what you are trying to say here, but it doesn't quite make sense.

    Maybe this?

"Could we ever count on Romney to be as
    sincere and heartfelt as
George W. Bush in the days after the World Trade Center bombing?"

Tanks Paso. Your suggestion is on target. I guess I shouldn't be so hasty when I have something important to say.

Prayers to Chris' family and to the families of the three other Americans killed by a bunch of savages. God Bless them! [IMG] [IMG]

Yeah, I've heard that Stevens was universally respected as an effective and hardworking diplomat, who was patriotic but also had genuine concern for the well-being of the Libyan people. His death is a loss for Libya as much as it is for the United States.

I must correct myself on this one. It seems that Romney's advisers were unanimous in backing his ill-timed criticism of Obama. Looks like he needs to recruit some courage into his inner circle who will stand up to peer pressure. I don't always agree with John McCain, but I never question the man's courage or integrity.

Did that true hero RINO John McCain really need to save Obamacare? Or did he just do what no other Republican wanted to do? Was it in Trump's face? You can kiss that RINO's rear end all you want, but he had a chance to put a chink in that socialist armor and chose socialism over his "party" (guess if he's a RINO, then he didn't)....

Expect more middle east wars with Biden. One of the reasons I voted Trump. He at least talked about ending wars and bringing troops home. Of course he also kept the pipeline of US weapons going to Saudi to attack Yemen, so he wasn't great. But Biden is going to be horrible for peace and prosperity all over the world.
