    4th_floor Dude, where's my laptop?

I now call him Menses, because it's like UT has been on the rag during his tenure.

If we're cutting Herman loose, do it now. early signing is in what, two weeks? I dislike Urban Meyer but if he wants the job, get him. If he doesn't, dangle $12 million per for 8 years in front of Lincoln Riley and get him. (I know, won't happen). But it kills two birds with one stone--cripples OU and elevates UT.

Having Ricky back for the 99 season would have been amazing. If I'm Sam, I come back for UM.

Urban Meyer is only going to come out of retirement and coach where he can win. Right now that isn't Texas.

I don't think there is any way Campbell would be worse. He is a better coach. The guy gets a hell of a lot out of his players. He's young, smart, and seems like a stand up guy.

Not saying he should be our next coach, but he is a better coach than what we have now. Then again, that's not saying a lot. Lots of coaches are better on the field and on the recruiting trail than herman.

Sure it is. Best talent in the Big 12 (that was the consensus*), a rebuilding OU and we lose three (so far) and luck out wins at Stillwater and Lubbock.

Talent isn’t the issue. That will become obvious if Meyer is here next year but we will be losing arguably our best two players, Cosmi & Ossai.

*One service rated out talent #5 in the FBS. (I cannot remember which.)

    ER,
Tom is correct about that. I don't think TX will get there this year so my dear friends in San Antonio will just confirm.

Well we certainly know about the other stuff going on on the campus this year. It must be very obvious to the recruits that this team is split. Hopefully Tom will be fired and the malcontents leave or graduate. Then maybe we can get a new coach and players that will represent this University and State. I cant blame any recruit that does not want to come to to this mess.

Probably, but as they say, you just never know. I don't see him as being as much of a sure thing as Urban. Plus, would he even want to come to Texas? He's not a Texan. Maybe UM, OSU, ND are his dream job, who knows. Kelly isn't getting any younger and Harbough may be worse than TH.

Under Meyer our only loss this year might be OU. He can win here.

So now that we are playing for nothing does anyone else think players like Overshown, Ossai and Cosmi opt out the rest of the season so they won't risk injury and get prepared for the draft??

That pic of delConte is where the Seniors ran out from and he was there at that time so I suspect, but cannot verify, that pic was after the last Sr (Sam) came out for his recognition and Chris was walking back.

So let’s war game out the rest of the season.

I assume Texas, even as bad as this team is, will will against the Kansas teams.

If Meyer wants the job I’d say you have to fire Herman and hire him. But when? Now or after the regular season? As far back as Mackovitch, Texas has always waited until the end of the season to fire football coaches. Hard to see that changing now.

But what if Meyer isn’t available? Do you fire Herman and then go fish for a coach? Herman’s a dud but will give you winning seasons. Do you take a chance on some new up and coming coach and if so who?

Well, what if we finish 2-0 and then win a bowl game? That's 8-3 for the season and 4 winning seasons with 4 bowl wins. I know it's not probable, just a what-if scenario. How about 7-4 after a bowl win or loss? I would think 6-5 is goodbye to TH.....

Hard to say for what bowl. Texas went to the Alamo bowl last year so is there interest again from them? With the Wuhan cutting back on travel would the Alamo bowl organization be happy to have some fans from around the area? What are the B12 bowl tie ins in order?

Disagree. We have superior talent now, but not being developed. great opportunity to put a bug in these 5 stars ears, then coach crap out of them. Like Urban or ñor not, he has the rings for a reason.
