I would rather have no program at all. Urban has some baggage but this f**k is a non-starter.

I don’t think pass/fail helps Herman. This season is an f either way.

Well the UT football program is historically racist so eliminating it would be the woke choice right?

I would put Meyer as the first choice. As I wrote above, this is a contingent plan if we can’t get our first or second choice. In other words, we would only do this if Meyer and our second choice were to turn us down—even for large sums of money (which does happen at times). If that unfortunate situation were to happen, I’d rather just have an interim coach than give a long contract to our third, fourth, or fifth choice.

I really want to see another UT NC before my time ends but if he ever wears the Burnt Orange, I will be pulling for Slippery Rock.

Tom asking for a vote - bah. Tell him his job is just as secure as the trophy case is full.

Hamilton seems to be saying it's happening, without saying it exactly

There is a 247 thread claiming compensation is basically worked out and the family is fine with Austin.
Supposedly the sole remaining issue is returning to the stress of coaching

Dude has no negotiation leverage, except how big and inflated his salary is. Besides "too expensive to fire", what does He-Man offer? He and the Shack are peas in a pod.

It makes Jimbo's look good. That kind of money should only be paid if you're desperate for a NC in the next five years and don't care about anything else. $12 million per year. Jimbo is $7.5 million per year. It has taken Jimbo what, three years to go top 5? Can we expect UM to turn it around that quickly without a GREAT 2021/2022 class? He would need to be in here ASAP wouldn't he?

I'll say this though; a coach who has won NC at two different schools and a high profile as a college analyst on TV would put Texas on the map of total relevance day one.

Translation: They plan to respect the chain of command until they don't get their way.

Honestly, if our BMDs can't get their way on this and then they fold, we need to get new BMDs.

    Come on, man!

What about all those "Great" classes from 2018? 2019? 2020? The players are here. They simply need to be coached up!

Yes... that makes sense. So can UM do it? That's the $60 million question. We have to believe the answer is yes.

But were those classes truly "great?"

Name one stud player who is clearly elite (meaning he's already done it) that will be here next year. Maybe I need more coffee but I don't see a Vince, a Ricky or anyone on the D-line that is an absolute top 5 pick. Or a left tackle that is a clear #1 draft choice.

I didn't see a Vince or Ricky on Iowa State's team. In fact, there is not one player on Iowa State that was recruited by Texas. A great coach can make all recruits look like 4-5 star players. Once that starts happening, the "real" 5 star players will start to come (see Alabama, Ohio State and Clemson).

Yes. I suppose I'm stipulating that the Iowa States of the world will be swatted away and have projected instead into the College Playoff for that kind of money.
