having tons of friends that never walked away from the bottle until it was almost too late....."it's a daily struggle"...not like you wake up and you've "seen the light!"
Is this official yet? From what I've found, it is only "reports are". I haven't seen an announcement from CDC.
If he's less of a turd, yes. Not my, yours, or anyone but the Big Money Donor's money that's going to be spent to hire someone else. He does not have big shoes to fill. 1-4 against OU, zero conference titles in 4 years, is not a world beating record that takes a legend to match.
Wow Sarkisian-terrible if true. Guy couldn’t handle the pressure at SC. He’ll melt like butter here. Sounds like a Koran Ferry decision. Or CDC “who is the OC at Alabama, they score lots of points”....Hope it’s Kelly or Urban.
He made them mediocre instead of awful. But they were never good. They needed him to leave and bring Chris Peterson in to get good.
Few people understand the power and seriousness of alcoholism. Even fewer understand the power of recovery. Neither one is a joking matter. Most of you can have a beer with your Tex-Mex or a glass of wine with your lasagna. Many of us can't do that.
Like I said some time back when CDC said Tom would be our coach in 2021, the year 2021 was only a week away. Tom was the HC for 1 day in 2021. Now he's gone. Sarkisian was at Washington HC, and Bama as the OC as I recall. He did have some drug or drinking issues. I'm neutral on the (potential) hire, neither excited nor disappointed. It's just another "meh" type hire. Maybe, if it becomes a done deal, he can get the guys refocused on the two reasons they are here...education and football.
no announcement....just speculation....Sark's name was mentioned when Meyer "turned us down"....which I understand he never actually said....so, with this, you have DRAMA!!!
I know, I know, it will never happen..... but if we were to steal Mack Brown from North Carolina AGAIN.......i would laugh.
Saban was not a Woke coach so maybe Sark knows how to un-Woke the Texas players. That would be amazing!
Heard on ESPN radio this morning that Sark had a heart procedure done while at Alabama. A pressure cooker like Texas will be interesting for a recovering alcoholic with heart issues.
Somebody on Wikipedia is a skeptic. On Steve Sarkisian’s Wikipedia page: “In January 2021, Texas hired Steve Sarkisian as the new head coach. He will try to bring Texas back but what are the chances. Good luck to him.”
