How is this any better than a lateral move for Texas?
I don't get it, rather see TH stay for another year if that gets us a proven winner

TH was toxic at this point. Regardless of who they choose, I think we are better off.

The problem is subtraction means less.

Herman was a can’t miss, and he missed. Not to mention his poor judgment.

Let’s see how Sark does. He certainly has the resume.

And the solution is, addition means more.

Not if you subtract a negative number.

Herman was a toxic turd to the people who, by their own choice, donate large amount of money to Texas. Personally, with as many charitable organizations that do actual good in the world, I find it strange that people give money to add seats to a stadium.

However, these odd, wealthy people, do not need to be told that they're mean UT football player haters who won't hire them to run their company, engineering degree, MBA, or even a diploma be damned - dude was a DL, make him the head of your next big project!

That plus 1-4 against OU, 1-3 against TCU, 0-4 in conference titles sealed his tenue.

Herman had to go. Let's see if Sark is really named the HC before we get into mathematics.

I dont know, but if he is...or whoever it ends up being....I would recommend that fans chill with their tearing down and support the man. Crazy to see people already riding and tearing down a potential new coach here who hasn't even started yet.

A few days ago this was supposed to be the case:

Texas AD: Tom Herman will remain with Longhorns

So don't believe a whole lot that's in the newspapers.

Herman's problems were not various characters like us making posts, it was a horrid record against the biggest rival, and no conference championships. That, plus being an unlikeable turd, sealed his fate.

Fans will be fans, but I'm glad for a change and if it's Sark, will support him and hope he gets Texas on the right track.

I supported Herman and then with that childish display on the sidelines in Sugar Bowl and other things, realized TH wasn't the right guy to lead Texas Football.

    For Real...Herman “is” done!

I figured CDC could of found someone better than a person with barely a winning record as a head coach. Considering we are the biggest program in college football..
Sarkisian seems like someone Texas Tech” would hire.

It's been made pretty clear here that the statement only meant he was the coach for the Bowl. That was it.

That's how I read it too, but the AAS garbage paper was saying he was coming back for next year. Shows how much they know.

I see a lot of parallels between Stoops & Riley with Saban & Sark. Saban says he’s ready and I’m willing to believe that. Yeah he has a past & has had to work his way back up but so did Orgeron. I say let’s give this guy a chance

Maybe Saban says that because he doesn't want to have to fire him, so....

    Just kidding.

Herman being gone is a good thing, depending on the contract Sark gets (3 years instead of 5, morals clauses etc.) he beats the death march that would have been next season with Herman. Chance now to maybe save 2022 recruiting and if Sark has cleaned up and certainly I will take Saban's endorsement as big plus then he is a big improvement over Tommy Terrific. I wanted Herman gone but only if there was a plan for what to do with him gone, it seems CDC has a plan and I am certainly pleased with the moves if not completely sold on Sark as the next Mack or DKR.

He may have been an active alcoholic a few years ago. But not now. I don’t know how many years of sobriety he has.
But he must have a significant # of them or he wouldn’t be the OC at Bama.

He is NOT a drunk. He is a recovering alcoholic who IS the OC at arguably the best football program in the country.

Yes, Sarkisian seems a little underwhelming but TH simply had to go. Once TH lost the locker room and fan base it was all over. It's certainly over when your own team is recruiting against you and top recruits start decommitting.

Texas was simply in a pickle, we don't know who else might have said no to Texas besides Meyer. There just isn't another Mack Brown out there right now. Sarkisian will probably be able to say I won a NC at Bama and I can do it at Texas, even if a bit misleading.

If Sabre didn't have me convinced of how stupid the Texas powers that be are, I would suggest this Sark talk is Texas trying to play Meyers's ego. But, they are too stupid to do that.

Agree that TH needed to go. Surprised it just happened but hoping for the best. Also hoping that if it is Sark that he learned something from Saban and that perhaps he has some left over 4 & 5 star OL that want to come with him??

As I watched Alabama pay Notre Dame I noticed something that I wasn't used to. Well disciplined play... hardly any penalties, no excessive celebrations, no pointedly selfish behavior by players. How do you establish a minimal bullcrap culture like that? It's not easy. And for all the glowing praise of Lincoln Riley at OU, he hasn't done it either. I watch all of our main rival's games and while Riley has mastered a lot, he hasn't mastered discipline.

Can Sark do that? He's an obvious offensive genius who has been learning from the master of recruiting and football culture. We have the resources to outshine Alabama, especially if there will be legal compensation for players through endoresements, etc.
