5 years removed from being a head coach. Has been through a lot. As I saw someone else say, probably hungry to prove himself. Must have learned a lot at Bama with Saban. I say he succeeds here and puts Texas back on the map. Book it.
Coaching under Saban hasn't help much for previous OC's ... why should we expect any different? Former Saban OC's head coaching records after leaving Bama: Coach W-L Schools % Kiffin 31-18 FAC, Ole Miss 0.633 McElwain 55-36 Co State, FL, Cen Mich 0.604 Applewhite 15-11 Houston 0.577 Locksley 6-17 Maryland 0.261
I don’t think we can use a lack of success from prior AL OC’s as a predictor of future success. I do think a former HC tutored by Saban bodes well for us.
You have to look at where they went. None of these guys go near the opportunity as Sark is getting. I think we just have to wait and see. Ewers had 6 TDs today. His first test is somehow bringing the instate recruiting back.
Ok when we settle on a date and place we need to get a message to him. I would assume that would be through the Athletics Office. Dr. Joe Fan or Sabre any ideas?
Exactly, I’m thinking a troll. A troll with high hopes this doesn’t turn things around. Seems like a lot of quick Wikipedia work done in Hayseed OK.
Yes, the only reason this was announced as “reportedly” this am was CDC waiting on Sabre to answer his phone. Sabre was on the phone with Nick offering a Cadillac as a bonus.
After watching the zoom meeting, I am pumped. Also like CDC dropping Eyes of Texas comment in there... It's a new day!!!!
‘There’s championship talent on this team’: Steve Sarkisian introduced as Longhorns head coach | KXAN Austin
You should be afraid that ten minutes in a room with me, he might apply for the job at Memorial Middle
Sark's comment, “On Jan. 4, 2006, I was the USC quarterback coach when we played Texas in that famed national championship game. There has always been something special about Longhorn football, its history and traditions — not just on that day — and I could never have imagined that 15 years later, I would join the Longhorns as their head coach,” Sarkisian said in a statement released by the school. “This is a unique and compelling opportunity to lead this storied program to the next level, competing once again amongst the best in college football.”
Found CDC's comment back on Dec. 12th: "There's been a lot of speculation about the future of our football coach," Del Conte said Dec. 12, "My policy is to wait until the end of the season before evaluating and commenting on our program and coaches. With the close of the regular season, I want to reiterate that Tom Herman is our coach." That was true, Tom was HC in December 12th. CDC didn't say he would be the HC for the 2021 season. He waited until the season ended post bowl game, then canned his *** in 2021.
