What a novel concept. Let's see if Sark tries it.

    2020 Team Defensive Stats

If Texas had a top 40 D just imagine the possibilities. Bama at 33 and 20, with that offense (and coaching), was good enough to win it all.

It would be interesting to get stats on the 2nd half of the season bc Horns' D improved. However, the coaching didn't.

Texas was 6th (Total Yards) and 7th (Pts) in the B12 alone. Good grief.

    Total Yards
    1 - Wisconsin
    5 - WVU
    6 - Clemson
    14 - aggy
    20 - land thieves
    21 - ND
    29 - Iowa St
    32 - TCU
    33 - Bama
    34 - Buckeyes

    68 - Hookem

    Points / Game
    1 - We Are Marshall
    11 - Clemson
    14 - ND
    20 - Bama
    24 - Buckeyes
    26 - aggy
    29 - Iowa St
    30 - land thieves
    36 - TCU

    60 - Hookem

It does sound like Banks is in
And so is the monkey, I guess

This much is true -- we are building a fine offensive staff. You can see how Sark won the interviews with promises about what kind of staff he would build. Not one of the other candidates could match this, outside of Urban Meyer

If we also land Jeremy Pruitt from out of the little ut's dumpster fire, then I will pull out a Cuban cigar I been saving

Texas Football is entering a new age
We've never had an assistant quite like this guy
Apparently tales of his out of the office life has been a running source of amusement for the Bama insiders for the last few years

" .... Banks, who is considered a top special teams coach and an elite recruiter, spent the past three seasons at Alabama and five seasons at Texas A&M before that. A source told Horns247 that Banks has agreed to a three-year, $3.15 million deal that will start with a $1 million salary in 2021 after earning $750,000 annually at Alabama.
    * * *
Flood is expected to be the offensive coordinator and Milwee the quarterbacks coach at Texas, even though Sarkisian will call the offensive plays, sources said.

At Texas A&M, Banks helped recruit quarterback Kyle Allen, receiver Christian Kirk and linebacker Otaro Alaka, all of whom are still in the NFL. Most recently at Alabama, Banks helped recruit five-star running back Camar Wheaton of (Garland) Lakeview Centennial and four-star receivers Agiye Hall and Christian Leary.

Banks has a strong history of recruiting the state of Texas, including helping Alabama land former Texas 2021 quarterback commit Jalen Milroe as well as four-star 2021 linebacker Kendrick Blackshire of Duncanville....."

Sounds like Alabama DC Pete Golding is next
He has a big buyout but, looking at the Banks figures, it doesn't look like it we are going to let money be an issue

I have serious doubt about this reference to dad wanting a job. Until there is some kind of legit proof, this is BS and this all lays at the feet of TH failures. The Brockermeyer are legacy's and bleed burnt orange, they even have the oldest kid as a walk on. Mom and dad both went to UT. Seems someone just wanted to put out BS and hope it stuck and unfortunately it appears that it may.

Banks will be the only assistant in college making over $1M per who does not have OC or DC job title

The Urban Meyer to Texas contract was supposed to be $12M. All of it to Meyer

Sark comes in and says, "Hey , why don't we use that money in hiring top shelf assistants instead?

    What an idea

Banks recruits Texas well. He was the lead recruiter in the 2021 cycle for Jalen Milroe, Agiye Hall, Christian Leary, Camar Wheaton, Kendrick Blackshire. He also played big role in helping the Tide land Robbie Ouzts.

Banks and Davis are among the top ranked recruiters on their sides of the ball

The reasons they give when they committed were the same that Ewers gave. Playing for coaches that can develop players for the league and be national title contenders. Hand and Herman's arrogance certainly did not help.

    Chip Brown --

" .... On Wednesday night, Banks broke the news to Nick Saban that he would be joining Sarkisian at Texas and explained to Saban that it was because Banks has young children living in College Station and wants to be closer to them.

Saban understood but isn’t at all happy, considering Banks is a top-end special teams coordinator and an elite recruiter who has strong connections in Texas and helped land former Texas quarterback commit Jalen Milroe and inside linebacker Kendrick Blackshire of Duncanville, among others.

Little-known fact regarding Banks: Tom Herman tried to hire Banks off Alabama’s staff last year, when Herman ended up hiring Jay Boulware. Banks didn’t feel strongly enough about Herman’s job status at Texas to leave a good situation at Alabama ...."

Hmmm, maybe the assistants really liked working with Sark, and Saban was the necessary evil at the top.

That Bammer homer really needs a drink.
