He has just got to stay on the field and out of the Training Room.

After countless hours of evaluation, I have made the decision to forego my senior season of High-School football. This has been a very difficult decision for my family & I. Football is a brutal sport, and the wear and tear associated with the RB position is undeniable. I plan to take this time to focus on my academics while enhancing my off the field training/ rehab regimen. This is a strategic & conscious effor to ensure that I am prepared to perform at an elite level at the collegiate rankings during the 2022 season. I want to thank each of my coaches & teammates at klein Cain Highschool. The relationships established have helpmed mold me into the young man I am today. YOu have my continued support this season and in the future. This is an incremental steps in hopes of one day fullfilling my NFL dreams. Jaydon Blue. Signing out.

Maybe he should also work on his grammer skills. At least that's what me think.

Character will be an issue in my opinion. I hope not, but foregoing a senior year in high school is a mistake.

Since when (this side of the70s) has the Klein ISD ever taught grammar, or any other school district?

I looked up the Hudl Jr Highlights of this kid.
Ummm, dudes legit...but sad to see and I am against any player opting out if any game at any level.
I get it, you guys have your opinions and I respect them, and I’ll never be able to back this up- but no way I’d ever opt out on my *teammates*... and for me that trumps the risk of injury.
How do you go through 2 a days, practice, hanging out , supporting each other and then sit out?
One Sam stayed and one Sam left his teammates. One Sam is a Longhorn hero and I don’t see how the other Sam can look Ehlinger in the eyes.
Save the roasting, I know it’s me. I and disagree that money is better than ones integrity and commitment.
    Out

So he is opting out of playing football this fall but will still go to class?
If that is the case and he really is talented enough maybe thst isn't such a bad idea.
However if he thinks HS football is tough on his body he is in for a big shock.
How many years will he play at Texas before he needs to rest his body for the NFL.?

Well, I would say at least three?
But I wouldn't count on him in any bowl game his final year. :)

At least he's being honest about it from the get-go that he won't be on the team that year, rather than quitting on the team partway through.

    Good point...
“Blue was already planning to graduate early and enroll in January at Texas, and now he will focus on wrapping up his schoolwork and getting his body healthy. “
