Many of my relatives attended Texas A&I: grandparents, my dad, numerous aunts and uncles... Every one of them immediately ceased all donations to the school when the named changed to a&m Kingsville, and none of them will ever forgive Carlos Truan for lying to them about the name change. And I can thoroughly provoke any or all of them by simply asking how their jaggies are doing these days.
Coach Steinke was a wise and different kind of guy. "We don't do things here like other places. I'll pay for your first two years, then if you're worth a ****, I'll pay for two more". - Gil Steinke
Can anyone actually verify they won it in 1939? Was that a cancelled year where they are claiming a maroon white win?
Sad thing is, this year, when they have a miscues chance of going to the playoffs, to be matched up against a team that had already beaten them by 28 points, is the closest they've been to a National Championship since that magical year of 39.
I couldn't clip it. But here's a piece w their updated '21 schedule. Looks like it was designed by sec brass to try and get another "strong sec team" 3 true road games out of 12 (you heard that right) A bye before Auburn and prairie view before lsu Only cross conference (East) is at Mizzou Bama at home mid season No UF no UGA Road games are at LSU, Mizzou, and ole miss prairie view am, Kent st, buffs, arky and new Mexico OOC...3 at home and 2 neutral) Schedule details aside...the most relevant fact in my eyes is the sec has trended down a little and isn't what it was a few years back. The Auburn, Miss St, Georgia, Ole Miss etc have come down. Aggy and Florida up some LSU had the one year and expect them to come back as a real good but not world beater team and program Bama still class carrying conference perception So you have IMO: Bama, UF/UGA/LSU/Aggy (tie), and then a bunch of very avg mid to low pack teams (In that order) ..with weak sauce scheduling aiding a few to appear better than they are. In my view it was a stronger conference 3-4 or so years ago I view sec as Bama and then 3-4 good (top20-25 worthy) teams each year that would likely be the #'s2-6 teams in any other conference most years barring maybe Pac12 (where they likely may be 1-??) Problem w sec is, while other conferences you typically have to play all other tough teams in conference every year, plus an occasional OOC big dog, most sec teams dont play all the other "bests" so the fact that there are 4 patsies stands out more. And again, whatever sec rebuttal that may have flown 3 or 5 years ago doesn't pass now. Here's aggy schedule Texas A&M 2021 football schedule released
He's not alone. People here claim they don't matter but persist in bringing them up for no apparent reason Sarkesian comment notwithstanding. They matter or they don't.
Seriously, if you pay a team to play you the stats shouldn't count. Doesn't matter if it's FBS brand dog crap or not.
Why are you obssesed with the aggies is the question. Other than this board and college football in general I never give them a second thought.
Why does he care who A&M schedules? After UT told A&M to eff off A&M is obligated to schedule UT? UT had the chance in 2012 and said no. Enjoy your annual rivalry game with Kansas!
