Saw Cedric’s tweets before heading here, so that we lost. Glad we hung in there :hookem:

The ones that Sims makes, forming a huge chunk of his low post scoring. Sims' short range jumper just isn't reliable.

I'm talking about Sims inside game almost every game. He relies on dunks for a huge chunk of his scoring. His shooting % on the short J's inside the paint is oddly low. So he goes for the sure thing--the dunk. With his power and athleticism, it works good enough against anyone not playing for Baylor or named Derek Culver.

Okay, I didn't watch this game. I commented on the tweet from the guy mentioning senseless dunk attempts. I surmise the attempts were somehow missed. A lay up type shot would always be more sensible.

Sorry my sarcasm got past you.

All dunks are sensible. I would find basketball unwatchable without dunking. Of course my all time favorite player is the good Dr.

Until an easy dunk is inexplicably missed. Just like going for 4th and inches from the other team's 30 yard line is a great idea until you don't convert.

I remember the Starks dunk. Even though I always disliked Starks, he got me out of my seat applauding on that dunk. Incredible.

You're arguing with me, just so we are clear here. Okay?

Now, back to the tweet in question upthread. I already said I didn't watch the game. He made it sound like these were not dunks that were necessary and mentioned ESPN I think. I watched about 30 seconds of your video. Those were dunks that were necessary to muscle to the hoop. So, I stand corrected in cases like this.

Now, in this case, it sounds like they were hot dog type of dunks. If so, I stand by my point that hot dog type of breakaway with no one around to defend you dunks are not necessary. They are fun to watch and exciting, until they are inexplicably missed.

Are we clear on what I was talking about now?

^^^ Agree. The hotdog dunk that is missed in the final seconds when the game is very much in doubt (like Coleman’s in this game) drives me a wee bit crazy. That shot just has to be made. Make the layup, take the W and celebrate in the locker room.

I always understood your argument so I was being a little snarky. So I apologize for being argumentative. But I can honestly say that I am all in with the hot dog dunks (there is an absolute amazing 360 dunk by Paul George in the video). Without hot dog dunks and other acts of incredible athletic ability I find basketball unwatchable. As I said, my favorite player is the good Dr while many people of my generation prefer Bird or Magic. I never watched Bird nor Magic play their boring games unless it was against Dr J and the Sixers. What can I say, I am not a purist. Football is a completely different story as I would still like to kick TH's *** for not kicking the field goal against ISU and I am still angry about the fumble on the goal line against TCU.

Ah okay no worries. My initial comment was mostly tongue in cheek.
