Typical brain-dead lib who never produced anything of value for society (I checked her bio):

"Some of the companies here today are still short of the number of doses they promised to initially deliver when they testified before this subcommittee in July," said Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.), chairwoman of the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee on oversight and investigations.

Yet Fauci says that you have to wear a mask and stay home even if you get the vaccine.

Is it clear to everyone yet that he is a government thug? Is it clear the only way out of this insanity is to enjoy life how you see fit ignoring these goons?

Not sure I believe that. They seem to be the group most bought in on this, pushing the narrative and absolutely petrified of this virus. I keep seeing kids posting things like "I've had 12 people I know die from this" which is complete horse crap. I personally know at least 100 people who have contracted 'rona with the worst symptoms being like the flu. Around 85% of the people with symptoms were similar to allergies for 2-3 days. None of them have any lingering effects.

The problem I have with all this is every two years there is a different virus. Now that they have us muzzled it will never go away. When I heard Fauci say we could be wearing masks into '22 that pissed me off because that's what I've been saying all along. They will find a reason to keep it going...forget herd immunity...forget immunizations. As soon as 'rona is gone they'll make another virus a crisis. It's their way of controlling the citizens more. Since I heard that I basically stopped wearing one anywhere except work because they require me to wear one and it's been awesome.

I have started to take off my mask everywhere I can get away with it. So far no one has said anything to me. Very few longish looks. By my anecdote 99% of the people don't care, except for the twit working for Half Priced Books. They are hard core about masks.

My experience is that there is a direct correlation from age to whether you'll get the vaccine (repaired). The younger they are the less they want it. There is also, sadly, a significant political difference.

    4th_floor Dude, where's my laptop?

And Greg Abbott. BTW, I called my representative and asked him to vote no on House Bill 3, which will allow Abbott to have an enforceable mask mandate for as long as he wants.

My anecdotal data differs substantially from yours but suffice it to say that anecdotes don't mean ****.

COVID death toll is now 500,000+

That's more people than we lost in World War 2.

BTW, flu kills a considerable number of people per year, but it never got even close to 500k except for 1918 and even that year the death toll in the US was around 675-750k in an era when today's basic medical care was nearly non-existent.

If you were a real patriot you'd tell your job to f**k off and quit because you aint gonna be muzzled like a sheep.

    What's holding you back, hero?

Yeah, I’ve made hundreds of calls scheduling vaccines. We’ve been all hands on deck. I can say that 95% of elderly are on board. About 30% of those under 40 are interested.

Half of those folks would have been dead within 6 months. Average life span of a nursing home resident is 6 months pre-covid. That’s a fact. Until the studies are done with 2019-2021 data on deaths, anyone claiming the true impact of covid is talking out their ***.

There's nothing odd about that at all. COVID, like any other type of infection, is worse on those who are immunocompromised.

Death certificates have the option to list multiple causes of death.

That is a fact but although it may seem relevant it is certainly not nearly the most pertinent.

The most pertinent fact is the relative death rate comparison pre-COVID vs COVID era.

We don't have nationwide data yet but some city and state data is in and the numbers show a definitive upward trend in overall nursing home deaths when COVID entered America.

SNFs in Cleveland, New York, and Detroit showed all-cause mortality substantially higher (up to 7 times higher) in 2020 vs 2019.

Link: Mortality, Admissions, and Patient Census at Urban US SNFs During the COVID-19 Pandemic

I would also suggest that you talk to people who actually work in nursing homes and ask them if the the overall deaths in 2019 were similar to 2020.

You need to explain to me why the number of deaths from all other causes (heart attack, cancer, accidents, gonorrhea, etc.) have decreased in number exactly equal to the number of covid deaths.

Yes. Why have deaths been attributed to Covid? In years past, were cancer deaths attributed to flu or some other ailment which caused death to occur earlier?

I think we all get that illness in immunocompromised people can cause the body to give out. Covid didn't kill these people, though, the underlying cancer or other disease did.

If your statement was true, then the total # of deaths in 2019 would be similar to 2020. But that's not what happened.

I already showed you data from nursing homes that total deaths in 2019 were substantially lower than 2020.
